The new tariffs are projected to raise over $600 billion per year. That tariff revenue will be used to offer incentives to buy American made durable goods like cars.

A very risky move Trump is taking. If there is a payoff, it will be towards the end of his presidency.

I thought he was only going to do reciprocal tariffs against countries that do not trade fairly with the US.

Working class Americans will get their taxes cut and financial incentives to buy American cars.

The number of Americans seeking unemployment benefits fell modestly last week, remaining within the same range of recent years.

Jobless claim filings fell by 6,000 to 219,000 for the week ending March 29, the Labor Department said Thursday. That's less than the 226,000 new applications analysts forecast.

Weekly applications for jobless benefits are considered a proxy for layoffs, and have remained mostly in a range between 200,000 and 250,000 for the past few years.

Time will tell how the administration's new round of tariffs will impact jobless claims.

I do not blame Trump for demanding foreign countries give equal access to American goods or have the same tariffs on their goods that they put on American imports.

What I really like about what Trump is doing is placing higher tariffs on countries fueling America's illegal immigration and drug crisis.  :good:

These tariffs will take time to show that they work, but libtards are impatient idiots.

Progs want the tariffs to create a deep long recession so they can win in 2028. Democrats do not care about working Americans.

By this time next year, there will be huge payoffs.

It would be great if that was the case with teachers unions.

he mainstream media have been in a state of doom and gloom over President Trump's tariffs, but as usual, they're missing the point.

And while the mainstream media fearmonger over the tariffs, Heritage Foundation President Kevin Roberts has faith that Trump's plan will work.

"Just to be really objective about this, there will be an economic quarter or two where things are choppy. The treasury secretary has said as much, because what Trump is trying to do is reset the world economic order," said Roberts.

"If I had to guess, as he gets into this negotiation with other countries and they recalibrate, because the administration is so good, they're going to focus on the reciprocity part of this," he continues, adding that alongside "deregulation, cutting the budget" and "making tax cuts" will get "America back on its feet."

"There needs to be a zealous focus, a real target, on the worst abusers," he says, noting that China and the European Union are among these abusers.

"The EU is the biggest protectionist racket in history, and they're telling us we can't place a tariff on them. That's the kind of reset that Trump is doing. He deserves much more credit for it than he's getting," Roberts explains.
