General Electric Appliances will invest $500 million to move production from China to the state of Kentucky.

I did not support Mr Trump's protectionist agenda, but it is proving me wrong.

Quote from: Oliver the Second on June 27, 2025, 11:04:57 AMAs it should be, no way should some judge in Podunk Nebraska be able to stop the actions of a sitting President. That would be like a lower manager at IBM cancelling the orders of the CEO, it's just not done that way.

I agree, it's crazy.

Department of Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem announced the termination of Temporary Protected Status for approximately 500,000 foreign nationals as part of the Trump administration's effort to clamp down on the immigration crisis.

Under former President Joe Biden, the federal government vastly expanded so-called lawful pathways to entry, enabling millions of immigrants to come to the United States. One of those pathways included the expansion of Temporary Protected Status, which was created to shield foreign nationals from deportations based on temporarily unstable conditions in their home countries.

President Donald Trump vowed to roll back the former administration's overuse of the program, but faced legal challenges for attempting to end these deportation shields. The Supreme Court, however, delivered a monumental win in May, allowing the DHS to revoke the TPS program.

On Friday, Noem announced the termination of TPS for Haiti, which is now slated to end for approximately 500,000 Haitian nationals currently in the United State on Sept. 2.

Donald Trump said on June 29 that his administration was working on a solution where farmers and hospitality business owners could potentially retain some illegal immigrant workers if they're not involved in crime and pay taxes.

Speaking with Maria Bartiromo of Fox News' "Sunday Morning Futures," Trump said he's trying to reconcile being both the "strongest immigration guy that there's ever been" and also the "strongest farmers [and hotels] guy."

"I cherish our farmers," Trump said, adding that some of the farmworkers being deported have been working in these positions for 15 to 20 years and "are good" but possibly entered the country "incorrectly."

"What we're going to do is we're going to do something for farmers, where we can let the farmer sort of be in charge," he said.

"The farmer knows he's not going to hire a murderer. But you know, when you go into a farm and he's had somebody working with him for nine years, doing this kind of work—which is hard work to do, and a lot of people aren't going to do it—and you end up destroying a farmer because you took all the people away, it's a problem."

Trump said he understands the farmers' position as well as those wanting a crackdown on illegal immigration.

I'd be willing to let the farm and hotel workers stay provided that they don't encourage their family members back home to sneak in.
Watch what you say to me or I'll mind FAWK U.

They still came in illegally and they should be deported. Let them reapply for a Green Card in their own countries.

Donald Trump on July 3 said his phone call with Russian President Vladimir Putin produced no breakthrough as he continues to mediate a cease-fire between Russia and Ukraine.

"I didn't make any progress with him at all," Trump told reporters aboard Air Force One on the way to Iowa.

He said he discussed Iran and Ukraine with Putin, adding, "I'm not happy about that."

On July 2, the Pentagon said it was pausing some shipments of weapons to Ukraine while conducting a "capability review" to ensure the aid aligns with U.S. defense priorities.

Trump defended the decision and accused his predecessor, President Joe Biden, of prioritizing Ukraine's defense over that of the United States.

Trump campaigned on ending that war. It is proving more of a challenge than he anticipated.

The key will be to stop arming Ukraine.

It's been two weeks since the United States bombed Iran's nuclear facilities as part of Operation Midnight Hammer, and thus far, it's been quiet — no World War III, no involvement from Russia or China, no unrest in surrounding Arab nations, and no unrest on American soil. On the contrary, a ceasefire has been reached between Iran and Israel, and despite initial violations, it's holding.

Meanwhile, if we shut off all arms to Ukraine, Putin will continue to bomb them. If we continue to arm them, Puting will continue to bomb them.

IC no solution here.

I disagree. If America stops all funding to Ukraine Zelensky will have no choice but to negotiate an end to the war.

Negotiate an end to the war with both America and Europe at the table like the president proposed but both sides rejected.

Pew Research Center polling has revealed that President Donald Trump garnered 48% of the Hispanic vote in 2024, up from 28% in earlier elections. Former Vice President Kamala Harris received only 51%, a decline compared to previous Democrats like former Presidents Joe Biden and Bill Clinton. The numbers reflect a notable shift in demographic support, as Trump's gains among minority voters strongly bolstered his electoral performance.
