The DOGE should have been founded long ago. If it had, there would not be slush funds like USAID.

Oh, Emma Vigeland looked like she was on the verge of tears in a recent Majority Report video about it on YouTurd. Right before Sam Seder started begging for subscriptions to the channel, which I notice has become a recent staple of their podcasts since DOGE started in on USAID. What's the bet that outlet was one of the many receiving a paycheck from USAID(s) and she and Sam Semen are coming to grips with the idea they are going to have to become an engaging watch going forward?

I had a discussion with someone I shall call a champagne conservative on the topic yesterday. He was of the opinion that Elon and Trump were doing irreparable and terminal amounts of damage to the good works of USAID, until I pointed out that this same agency was wasting a considerable proportion of its budget funding various media outlets on YouTurd and even the British Broadcasting Corporation. I mentioned a few of their other less than commendable wastages, then pointed out that while scrutiny was indeed underway to rein that in, the fact remained that Trump was not in a position to shut down the department entirely through executive order, he could (and was) folding it into the State Department.

Took the wind right out of Mr Champagne Conservative's sails I did, but it did leave me wondering... why is it not possible that Trump can issue an EO forcing the closure of a department that was formed via an executive order in the first place? I might have to dig a bit for the answer for that, unless you or someone else here has any ideas.

Folding USAID into the State Department does not solve the problem. It's a short term Band-aid fix.
