The insistence on retaining the Conservative Perspective account to mirror FOX news talking points being one such example. Amplifying a source I understand to be "controlled opposition" is (I believe) a waste not only of our best independent analytic efforts, but also of his money.

At the end of they day however, it is his money to "waste" as he sees fit. And I cam simply not open any of those botted threads, or indeed engage overly with any of the issues arising therein. That approach works for me, I am content to operate within it, I remain a sometime-contributor to this forum because of this.

You would tell me something similar regarding my (increasingly infrequent) interactions with JoHoMo. "He's not worth it, you're wasting your time" etc. Yes, but again... it's my time to waste, every bit as much as paying to host botted Conservative Perspectives spam is DKG's prerogative. I don't pretend either "waste" should cheapen the mutually agreed upon "less wasteful" pursuits that the majority of the board users share as we can all cherrypick what we choose to spend our time on... it's something we are all accustomed to doing and should be.

Including (if you are JoHoMo) screaming into the void about censorious board operators. I know bullshit for what it is, I've raked DKG over for more substantive things before and no censorship was ever applied my way. Guest posting still remains open, I cannot think of a single instance under DKG's ownership where a post of mine has not been approved and my only registered account here presumably retains its moderator permissions, even if its been inactive for a year or more. I get the impression that if I wanted my password reset, I wouldn't have to work too hard to make it happen.

I see all of that and I respect DKG for it. So he platforms stuff I think is a waste, so he makes the odd mistake through inexperience behind the panel.... meh. He otherwise does much that I do agree with and the checkmarks he's racked up in the plussies column far eclipse anything in the "what a goof he is" column. More importantly, he is making an effort and I remain an interested debater when he directs any commentary my way. I certainly cannot say the same about the example a place like Bastard Factory sets. And I don't see JoHoMo doing anything concrete towards setting a superior example for anyone to admire.

Any complaint of censorship levied against DKG says more about the person making the complaint than it does about DKG himself. That's how I understand it. I don't feel the need to prove it either, DKG's actions can stand on their own merits without a single word being said. Or they can be dismissed by total fuckwits that don't mind revealing themselves to me as such - it's all good.

    

As I have said many times all of the complaining, cross forum drama, breaking rules, derailing threads, humping Lokmar's leg is part of Joe's antiquated troll schtick. It entertains nobody. But, he keeps playing the same record over and over again. That is why several posters have him on ignore.

As for the Conservative Perspective, it was Biggie Smiles that brought it here. I don't mind it most times. But, sometimes it creates two threads of the same topic.

Actually I think you're missing an opportunity to create massive growth in this forum by adding a financial/investing section - which incidentally isn't liberal or conservative. Regardless of political affiliations, people are interested in this sort of thing because of course, it directly affects them.

But...maybe you don't want to forum to experience massive growth, acquire advertising revenues or potentially expanding revenues as that in itself creates more headaches, and of course, would introduce diverse pov which are incompatible with the political slant of this forum.

Personally I watch YouTube channels and read Internet content from both the Left & Right to get a better idea of what is actually going on in the world. This is especially true with investing. Don't wanna be like Vladmir Putin who thought invading Ukraine would be a quick fix but instead walked Russia into a land mine.

It's best to believe what ACTUALLY is than what a person WANTS to believe.
