So in the current mecca of technology innovation and AI/Robotics advancement you just so happen to have a narcissistic governor piece of shit who care so much about the average constituent in his state that he wants to see them prosper with a 30 dollar an hour minimum wage at fast food restaurants

Aside from the fact that he and his fellow democrat scum have made the state so costly that 30 dollars an hour isn't even a livable wage, do any of you really believe there is genuine human concern here?

Well look what just happens to be gaining momentum right around the same time

https://misorobotics.com/flippy/

Coincidence?

Only if you have the IQ of a wet paper bag.

It's called a pilot. And it's been forced upon the fast food industry out of a necessity to remain viable by democrat scum who don't give the slightest fuck about your average american.

Now some of us maybe be inclined to say "it's California, fuck em"

Ah, but these fast food chains are in all 50 states and if robotics/AI demonstrates significant profitability in California, rest assured they will seek to replicate those savings EVERYWHERE

and once robotics/AI has demonstrated compentancy in a safe to pilot industry like fast food it's on to bigger and better endeavors where humans can be replaced  -- nurses, accountants, IT professionals etc etc etc

good job infecting the country and even the world with yet another damaging policy you piece of shit.

There was a meme posted on this board that said Twenty Dollar per Hour Minimum Wage?

Meet Your Replacement.

It showed a an image of something like that.

I have always wanted a livable minimum wage. But, with modern technology maybe we should ease off the gas on raising it too fast.

Nothing will replace or offshore labor faster than wages rising well above the rate of inflation. That is an indisputable fact worldwide.

Wealthy dude.

Blurt's brother, the guy that posts as grandpap at van4um only makes $16 per hour and it is only for a few months per year at the firewatch. Look it up. Alberta firewatch pay. He makes minimum wage. What a loser.

My province will soon have the lowest minimum wage in the country....it's fifteen dollars per hour here..

But, most service jobs in stores or fast food restaurants in my city pay at least seventeen dollars per hour.

The false economics of driving up wages to cover costs of skyrocketing products is fucking stupid. You only end up chasing an inflationary tail doing it like that. If the minimum wage increases were to be augmented by a drawing down of government taxes for the funding of worthless excuses of public service and their pet projects, the need for the inflationary spiral of wages and the prices of goods and services might retreat a bit.

You might also like to consider the drawing down of legislation that requires people to do their business via the banks. Yeah, like either of these solutions are getting employed any time soon.

That'll never happen. Fucking NEVER!

I am afraid that advanced robotics and AI are here to stay. They will replace most workers within a few decades. Human employees will be a liability, not an asset. This is going to happen unless we destroy ourselves via AI first.

I hate to be the bearer of bad news but we are on the cusp of a period where millions will lose their jobs. At least they should be able to see it coming and plan accordingly.

AI + advanced robotics  = your likely replacement.

Agreed, almost 100%. The only thing I'd change in the entirety of your post would be to swap out the word "jobs" for "lives".

It already kinda did.

It could happen again. I mean if we really cared enough for it to.

Wonder how much more we'll lose before we care enough.

The future is bleak.

Biggie Smiles has a thread where he gave an example from his own career showing the shockingly advanced pace of AI. It's frightening.

I don't want to think about that but you are not wrong.
