I just ate a butt load of steamed green lipped mussels.

Grilled salmon, asparagus, capsicum, and mashed potatoes tonight.

The fortnightly grocery delivery came today. It's seafood time!

I never heard of green lipped mussels..

What happens if you run out of groceries before the two weeks is up?

We ship once a week and sometimes run out of certain items before the next shop....and tonight is shopping night.

Green lipped mussels are from NZ.

We order non perishables for two weeks, fresh seafood for 2 days, fresh meats for 4 days, deli items for up to 2 weeks but most only 4-7 days unless packaged tight (things like bacon, polish sausages, cheeses in cryovac), vegetables and fruits 1-2 weeks depending on item. It's a juggling act.

When will you be able to shop inside grocery stores again?

We never had a ban on that. I get delivery on 2 week basis because if the bill is over 300.00, there's no 15.00 delivery charge, the items come from an online distro hub so more availability than in store, and they do all the picking and lifting for you. Plus to your doorstep. Shopping this way is more convenient and you can scour the site for discounting easier. I saved 68.00 last shop, and that's a typical average between 300-325$ spent. If you're tricky enough, you order an item on half off specials which tend to run out. Yesterday got charged 4.00 for 4x schnitzels, they ran out  and credited the account for 8.80 (the full price). Spent 303.00 to get it delivered for free, but only actually spent 294.20... lulz

And with fresh meat and produce, ordering odd weights means they often have to give you more to ensure they deliver the minimum.

Through the weeks we duck out to a local supermarket for odd items like avocados, bananas, et cetera.

So, grocery store visits were still permitted?

Have they lifted some of the restrictions?

Yes

And no restrictions lifted. They've added new ones though. Like no more scarves, bandanna, neck socks. Must be a fitted mask. After 6 months when they were worthless anyway. Dan the Dictator is a power tripper....

Canadian turkey day is pretty much the same as in the states. We have a shorter growing season, so the harvest day  is earlier.

Oh man, my deer meat stew and grilled cheese was awesome.
I've come here to chew bubble gum, and kick ass. And I'm all out of bubblegum.

My girlfriend and I had complete turkey dinners delivered.
