Quote from: "@realAzhyaAryola"The same with Maryland/DC/Virginia where I used to be. You just buy a card that you can use on bus and train. The initial purchase of it is $10.00 and then you top it up to the amount of your choice. Some people actually put $500.00 worth in it. I've seen it done. Back there, we call it the SmarTrip card. You can register it online and manage it, top it up online too with the payment method of your choice.

That is better than Vancouver..

Public transit there is expensive and so is gasoline.

Vancouver is a rip off. Most overrated city I've ever seen.

Can travel anywhere by bus for a one zone fare.

Zones only in effect when riding SkyTrain or SeaBus, and then only on weekdays prior to 6:30pm. No zones evenings or weekends

Compass or tap credit card works system wide.

Bus transfers only work on buses at this time.

There are no zones here..

Vancouver's transit is very expensive.

Is there a card thing in Calgary like the one in Maryland/DC/Viriginia that can hold more than $3.40?

Vancouvers system covers 23 cities and municipalities. Has three (expensive) SkyTrain lines, commuter rail, SeaBus, conventional and community shuttle buses, HandyDART... Transit police... Over 7000 employees. Ten year, $10 Billion expansion plan...

Three zones cash is like $5.75; on a loaded Compass Card $4.50. Valid for 90 minutes.

Evenings, weekends, and bus only travel: $3 cash or credit, $2.40 on a Compass card.

They should be amalgamated like Toronto's transit service which is bigger than Vancouver's..

You can can transfer freely anywhere in the country's largest city between street cars, buses, Handy buses, the RT, and subway lines at any time of day or night and for a lower price than Vancouver.

Vancouver

If I go to Calgary I would use car2go to roam the city. According to fashionista the C Train goes to the Calgary Zoo.

I have never been on transit in any other city in Canada besides Vancouver. It is expensive here. Much cheaper in Israel.

I haven't been there in a while, but I believe the train goes to the zoo and dinosaur park.

If someone still lives with their parents, is semi retired or has a spouse working full time, it might be what they want..

A full time job doesn't fit every walk of life.
