A Hungarian camerawoman has been fired after being filmed deliberately tripping up a Syrian refugee carrying a child as they ran away from police near the Serbian border.

Petra Laszlo, working for local TV station N1TV, which is run by the anti-immigration far-Right Jobbik party, was caught on camera kicking refugees, including a young girl, who were fleeing a camp.

Another cameraman captured the moment Ms Laszlo films the refugees running away from charging police officers at the border village of Roszke before sticking her leg out as a father carrying his son runs past, causing them both to fall to the ground.

The video was widely shared on social media after it was posted by German reporter Stephan Richter on Twitter, with many condemning Ms Laszlo's behaviour.

The station issued a statement on Tuesday, saying: "The N1TV colleagues today behaved unacceptably in Roszke collection point. Our working relationship with the camerawoman has ended. The case was considered closed our part."

Peter Kent, Conservative Candidate, Tweets And Deletes Bogus Photo



A Conservative candidate has deleted a tweet that claimed a refugee was a former fighter with the Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant.



Peter Kent, the party's candidate for Thornhill and a former federal environment minister, attached the photo below with the post:

The Tory hopeful nixed the post after Tabatha Southey, a columnist with The Globe and Mail, linked Kent to a BBC article that debunked the image on the right.



"Stand corrected on retweet passed on by trusted source. Still maintain need 4 prudent screening," wrote Kent.



The BBC article points out that the man in the image on the right is Laith Al Saleh. The 30-year-old man was profiled by The Associated Press in mid-August, telling it that he had joined the Free Syrian Army — and fought against ISIL.

It don't know either because I wasn't there. I do know ISIS is planting their own militants among the refugees flooding into Europe.



Opportunistic smugglers have reportedly been helping small groups of ISIS fighters travel from southern Turkey into Europe for months, hidden in cargo ships filled with hundreds of refugees, according to an ISIS operative and several smugglers quoted by BuzzFeed in January. The ISIS operative claimed some 4,000 fighters were already waiting in Europe, intent on fulfilling ISIS's repeated threats to stage attacks around the globe.  He said such attacks would be in retaliation for U.S.-led airstrikes against the group in Iraq and Syria.



"Just wait," he told BuzzFeed earlier this year.

Hungary preparing to extend border fence towards Romania



Hungary's government will start preparatory work to extend the border fence along its Serbian frontier eastwards towards Romania, in case migrants start taking other routes into its territory, the foreign minister said on Tuesday.



Hungary has already been building a 175-km (110-mile) razor wire fence on the Serbian boundary, across the main land route for migrants into the EU.



"We have made the decision to start preparatory works for the construction of a fence starting from the Hungarian-Serbian-Romanian border at a reasonable length should migration pressure shift in the direction of Romania," Foreign Minister Peter Szijjarto told a news conference.



Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban, one of the continent's loudest opponents of mass immigration, says he is acting to save Europe's "Christian values" by blocking the main overland route used by mainly Muslim refugees, through the Balkans and across his country via its border with Serbia.



Hundreds of thousands of people have been arriving at the EU's southern and eastern edges and making their to the richer countries further north and west, in the greatest migration to Western Europe since World War Two.



Szijjarto said Budapest had informed the Romanian Foreign Ministry about the plans, which would extend the fence's current route to a few kilometres beyond the Maros (Mures) river along the Romanian frontier.
