"There is no truth or mercy

Or knowledge of God in the land.

2 By swearing and lying,

Killing and stealing and committing adultery,

They break all restraint,

With bloodshed upon bloodshed.

3 Therefore the land will mourn;

And everyone who dwells there will waste away

With the beasts of the field

And the birds of the air;

Even the fish of the sea will be taken away.

Quote from: "Dinky Dianna"I think the Pope is really up himself and should back the hell away from politics and the ridiculous man made climate change cult. The guy is busking for followers and favors. I'm not at all impressed with his rhetoric.

 I'm not impressed with his heretical theology and self exaltation.  The RC has been in bed with free masons and the occult since Constantine.

I don't care about any of those allegations. Religion needs to know it's place, away from politics.
 Well then we start by getting rid of every moral law. Which is all of them.  How do you feel about that?  I think people forget the basis for right and wrong were never secular.

Religion doesn't have any higher ground or authority with social mores. The basis for wrong and right evolved because of society's need for stability and cohesion. Religion is a very latecomer. It needs to mind it's own business or its followers will get what they deserve.

3 But know this, that in the last days perilous times will come: 2 For men will be lovers of themselves, lovers of money, boasters, proud, blasphemers, disobedient to parents, unthankful, unholy, 3 unloving, unforgiving, slanderers, without self-control, brutal, despisers of good, 4 traitors, headstrong, haughty, lovers of pleasure rather than lovers of God, 5 having a form of godliness but denying its power. And from such people turn away! 6 For of this sort are those who creep into households and make captives of gullible women loaded down with sins, led away by various lusts, 7 always learning and never able to come to the knowledge of the truth. 8 Now as Jannes and Jambres resisted Moses, so do these also resist the truth: men of corrupt minds, disapproved concerning the faith; 9 but they will progress no further, for their folly will be manifest to all, as theirs also was.

3 Now as He sat on the Mount of Olives, the disciples came to Him privately, saying, "Tell us, when will these things be? And what will be the sign of Your coming, and of the end of the age?"

4 And Jesus answered and said to them: "Take heed that no one deceives you. 5 For many will come in My name, saying, 'I am the Christ,' and will deceive many. 6 And you will hear of wars and rumors of wars. See that you are not troubled; for all[a] these things must come to pass, but the end is not yet. 7 For nation will rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom. And there will be famines, pestilences, and earthquakes in various places. 8 All these are the beginning of sorrows.

9 "Then they will deliver you up to tribulation and kill you, and you will be hated by all nations for My name's sake. 10 And then many will be offended, will betray one another, and will hate one another. 11 Then many false prophets will rise up and deceive many. 12 And because lawlessness will abound, the love of many will grow cold. 13 But he who endures to the end shall be saved. 14 And this gospel of the kingdom will be preached in all the world as a witness to all the nations, and then the end will come.

The Great Tribulation

15 "Therefore when you see the 'abomination of desolation,'[c] spoken of by Daniel the prophet, standing in the holy place" (whoever reads, let him understand), 16 "then let those who are in Judea flee to the mountains. 17 Let him who is on the housetop not go down to take anything out of his house. 18 And let him who is in the field not go back to get his clothes. 19 But woe to those who are pregnant and to those who are nursing babies in those days! 20 And pray that your flight may not be in winter or on the Sabbath. 21 For then there will be great tribulation, such as has not been since the beginning of the world until this time, no, nor ever shall be. 22 And unless those days were shortened, no flesh would be saved; but for the elect's sake those days will be shortened.

23 "Then if anyone says to you, 'Look, here is the Christ!' or 'There!' do not believe it. 24 For false christs and false prophets will rise and show great signs and wonders to deceive, if possible, even the elect. 25 See, I have told you beforehand.

26 "Therefore if they say to you, 'Look, He is in the desert!' do not go out; or 'Look, He is in the inner rooms!' do not believe it. 27 For as the lightning comes from the east and flashes to the west, so also will the coming of the Son of Man be. 28 For wherever the carcass is, there the eagles will be gathered together.

The Coming of the Son of Man

29 "Immediately after the tribulation of those days the sun will be darkened, and the moon will not give its light; the stars will fall from heaven, and the powers of the heavens will be shaken. 30 Then the sign of the Son of Man will appear in heaven, and then all the tribes of the earth will mourn, and they will see the Son of Man coming on the clouds of heaven with power and great glory. 31 And He will send His angels with a great sound of a trumpet, and they will gather together His elect from the four winds, from one end of heaven to the other.

There are blue prints and an alter made for the rebuilding of Solomons Temple.  I appreciate that the secular world tags every false ending to us Christains....but we are the only ones who have consistently said "nope, not yet".  Now that we are saying "okay, here we go....it's those times now"   it's all "derrr it's been the end for like, years".  Okay well...according to who?  Not us. We know how this goes down.  The pope just said Jesus life ended in failure at the cross and thousands are prepped to recieve the anti christ. You think these aren't signs?

20 "But when you see Jerusalem surrounded by armies, then know that its desolation is near. 21 Then let those who are in Judea flee to the mountains, let those who are in the midst of her depart, and let not those who are in the country enter her. 22 For these are the days of vengeance, that all things which are written may be fulfilled. 23 But woe to those who are pregnant and to those who are nursing babies in those days! For there will be great distress in the land and wrath upon this people. 24 And they will fall by the edge of the sword, and be led away captive into all nations. And Jerusalem will be trampled by Gentiles until the times of the Gentiles are fulfilled.

The Coming of the Son of Man

25 "And there will be signs in the sun, in the moon, and in the stars; and on the earth distress of nations, with perplexity, the sea and the waves roaring; 26 men's hearts failing them from fear and the expectation of those things which are coming on the earth, for the powers of the heavens will be shaken. 27 Then they will see the Son of Man coming in a cloud with power and great glory. 28 Now when these things begin to happen, look up and lift up your heads, because your redemption draws near."

 Ya, everyone knows only "your kind" is allowed to speak with authority on world views. Hahaha.  Look, atheists are irrational. You can't honestly claim to be an atheist and expect to be a rational person. It is more intellectually honest to say you are a hard agnostic. Even dumbass dicey Dawkins understands that.  It's your choice to believe or not....but you are not an athority figure over humanity.  I get your point, and dismissed it ages ago.  Are you having rejection issues? If you want your view respected, respect others. Don't cry foul when the tables turn.

The end is nigh.

The staple of a lunatic with a sandwich board for centuries. Repent, for judgment day is imminent.

Well, here we are...and there's no sign things are coming to an end any time soon.

The Mayan's thought they had it nailed...but they fell short by 3 years and counting. Mankind has some way to go, toots...and if you truly believed otherwise, you would not have bred children. Did you have babies just so they could burn in the fires of God's wrath? Well, it fits the Christian ethos, at least.

A true Christian would not be banging their tambourine proclaiming the end of days. A true Christian would relish each day and work towards a better future. But then, who'd listen to them if there was no heaven or hell?
 It's not the end for the body of Christ. It's the end of sin and evil. What do you think the resurrection meant? What do you think baptism is a reflection of?  This natural world, this linear time dimension is not going to last. It is going to melt away, fade from sight. It's not even really reality.  There is so much more beyond what our eyes see. We are not going to make this world "better". Our sin nature has been and will continue to steadily and rapidly destroy creation and no amount of wishful thinking is going to suddenly change that and make humans less greedy and less destructive. And you know that. We have been "trying to make the world a better place" for centuries. Take a look around, Spec. How's it working? And what makes you think Christians don't lift a finger?  The secular solutions to social ills are based in enabling and entitlement. Wefare? Abortion?  That's the best we have to offer?
