A number of members and supporters of an outlaw motorcycle gang are expected to show up in Rosser, Man. on Friday and Saturday.

The RCMP and the Winnipeg Police Service (WPS) are joining forces to "closely monitor all events and movements" of those arriving on behalf of or in support of the motorcycle gang, a press release issued by the RCMP on Friday said.

Insp. Max Waddell of the WPS said the force is committed to suppressing gang activity through intelligence-led policing strategies.

"These measures will ensure the safety of the citizens we serve," he said.

RCMP Supt. of federal policing Len Del Pino said his force's "presence will be felt."

"The RCMP and its policing partners will be out in force and visible throughout the weekend to ensure public safety and to enforce the law," he said.

The RCMP is letting drivers know that when travelling on the west and north perimeter highway, they may notice an increased police presence.

RCMP is inviting those who want to stay updated on the situation to visit their Twitter page, where they will be sharing information about the situation.

My brother is a policeman in rural Manitoba..

He never mentioned anything about it when I called him Friday night, but doesn't talk about anything specific about his job.

I can't find anything else about it, so must have been small potatoes.
