This sort of upset me...I remember watching "Night Court" during my HS years.

Legendary NHL goaltender Tony Esposito died of pancreatic cancer at age 78.
I looked it up. He died on Tuesday. This is the first time I read this. He was a Hall of Famer.

Sudoku creator Maki Kaji, whose life's work was spreading the joy of puzzles, has died at age 69 of cancer.
Known as the "Godfather of Sudoku," Kaji created the numbers puzzle to be easy for children and others who didn't want to think too hard.
He founded his puzzle company, Nikoli Co., in 1983 and created the game around the same time.
Sudoku became a global hit two decades later after a fan pitched it to the British newspaper The Times.
His company said Kaji traveled to more than 30 countries spreading his enjoyment of puzzles.
Sudoku championships have drawn millions of players and his company has provided more original puzzles to media companies in Japan and abroad.

Oh my God. I remember him backstopping the 1970's Chicago Black Hawks. Stan Makita was one of my favorite players of that era.

Sonny Chiba, famous in the West for his roles as Hattori Hanzo in Quentin Tarantino's Kill Bill and Uncle Kamata in The Fast and Furious: Tokyo Drift, has died aged 82.
The Japanese actor and martial arts expert died of complications linked to contracting Covid-19, the actor's agent confirmed to Variety.
Born in Fukuoka, Japan on January 22, 1939, Chiba attended Nippon Sport Science University in 1957 where he began to study martial arts under the guidance of Kyokushin Karate master Masutatsu "Mas" Oyama. Aged 26, Chiba obtained his first-degree black belt on October 15, 1965, before later achieving his fourth-degree in 1984. The late actor also held further black belts across a range of other disciplines including Kendo, Judo, and Ninjitsu.
