Rarely snows here.



And just got some news just now.  There's a tumour in one lung.  It's inoperable.  He has most likely a few days left to live.



Looks like I'll be going to another funeral here shortly...

My grandpa went down fast when they discovered  cancer in his lungs.

I thought you said they were all killed by the regime...

She said her paternal grandparents.



Shen Li visits her maternal grandmother in China.

Why did they spare her maternal grandparents?

Likely they were considered no threat to the communist regime at the time..



My father and my grandfather were persecuted by Chiang Kai Shek's thuggish regime, but not my mother's family.

Well, I wasn't ever really that close to the man, but at least I did spend some "quality" time with him, for lack of a better term, in the last few weeks here.  May he Rest in Peace now.



It probably won't be appropriate for me to clown around on these forums so soon, considering the circumstance, so much to your delights I'll probably keep a relatively low profile for at least a few days.

I've buried too many over time.  I've spent too much time in hospitals and wards.



I suppose the correct term is becoming "institutionalized" to the process of death.  I don't like it, but with every new death I deal with, it becomes easier...  More protocol...  More...  I don't know.



I don't want family to take care of...  I am single, and I have no children.  I don't want to deal with this time and time again.
