A controversial "pro-rape" U.S. blogger has cancelled this week's planned meeting in Ottawa, citing safety concerns.



Daryush Valizadeh, commonly known by his online nickname Roosh V, had planned meetings of "tribesmen" in 43 countries for Saturday, with Ottawa's Arts Court listed as the site of the first meeting location before supporters move to another location. Meetups were also planned in seven other Canadian cities, but all had been cancelled as of Wednesday night.



"I can no longer guarantee the safety or privacy of the men who want to attend on February 6, especially since most of the meetups can not be made private in time," read the announcement on Roosh V's site, returnofkings.com.



"While I can't stop men who want to continue meeting in private groups, there will be no official Return Of Kings meetups. The listing page has been scrubbed of all locations. I apologize to all the supporters who are let down by my decision."

In a video, He has said that his "father is a Shiite Muslim", and that he "grew up with Muslim beliefs, where do you think all my views come from from?, where do think my ideas about patriarchy and masculinity come from?" and "I'm introducing traditional Islamic values".  The description of one of his videos states "I am OBVIOUSLY experiencing islamophobia in Canada because I am a MOSLEM. The Canadian establishment needs to check their non-moslem privilege."

Free speech is redundant because people other than him are practicing their free speech? He doesn't get to be the only one. He bans women and homosexuals from his meetings, so countries and cities should get to ban him too.
