That's cross country skiing.

I used to downhill ski a fair bit but cross country ski more.



Going out on moonlit nights and getting some speed up without depth perception between the snow and sky was the best feeling.



Like dancing on uneven surfaces in the dark...

We used to downhill ski  a lot - but lost interest when moved to coast where a few people here and there became a nightmare of people everywhere  .. and phony ski villages etc



I agree on night downhill .. We skied Fairmont (small nice place to be) at night with minimal lighting when lived not so far from it .. few people ... moon above  .. only the sound of skis speeding and swooshes of carving gentil turns in the snow  ... magic!!



Same for golf. Was wonderful to relax and enjoy alone or with a partner  before it became crowded and all foursomes lined up which killed the wonderful solitude it had been for us



I guess it's obvious that we are loners and at peace when away from the crowds

My best moments night cross country skiing were mucking up the path and getting clothelined by a wire fence or deep ditch. I never carried a torch/flashlight.



...it seemed not wrong after awhile. Being near blind between the white and black was a sense of freedom to my feet...





....like I was a Jedi snow knight.



...I tumbled and took plenty of dives when I first started doing it, but in time, my body was adapted to low light conditions and hill grades.



It was one of my defining experiences in life...



I've gotten that diving and kayaking since, despite only being a moderate swimmer who refuses PFD's.

I'm lost because I don't know the context around Arnold S saying that.

Arnold said on video more or less "fuck your freedoms or civil liberties" (not an exact quote) about those jab hesitant or jab refusing sorts like me and my loved ones.



He doesn't think that any healthy person has a right to refuse a medical treatment because of their religious values or their informed dissent.



I understand that he's older and might have real paranoia after decades of getting mega rich body building and shithaus acting in films, but what he thinks has no bearing on us lesser peoples.



Without consent, the West he thrived in falls apart.
