I think it was. You're not the only nor the first person to make that remark.

I watched both. They were good in their own way.

I think the critics liked the Adams Family more, and its considered more of a Cult Classic.



However, I always thought the Adams Family lacked the warmth which Fred Gwynne exhibited.

In all probability, the Munsters wouldn't have lasted long without him.

He was essentially the entire show.

The Adams Family had more depth and could function with or without a few characters.

It was probably better balanced.

I have only seen a few episodes of the Munsters, but I agree the show was nothing without Herman.
