My least favorite would be the slobbering type....Mastiffs, Rottweilers...etc.

Originally they were a working breed. They were used as watch dogs on the merchant barges that traveled up and down the Rhine River.They are a very alert breed. But today they are known as a companion breed. They are used as therapy dogs as they are sensitive and people friendly. There was one used as a therapy dog at the 911 recovery sight.

Cats are pets for people who don't really want a pet. IMHO, they're in the same catagory as hamsters and parakeets. As for their intelligence.......



Well lets just say in terms of their reasoning skills and social intelligence they are inferior to dogs in every way. When it comes to reading human emotions, learning commands, and performing tasks dogs are second only to our primate cousins. They are one of the few domesticated animals that are actually smarter than their wild counterparts.

Of the top 25 smartest animals, the cat actually ranks below elephants, octopi, and fucking squirrels.  



Small wonder why you find them agreeable companions.

They resemble huskies a little bit.
