Cut-throat, just like any other...

.....The shitty part is, though...  that it takes a long time to get there, and you'll probably run at a loss for quite some time.

Yeah, it is cutthroat. There are a lot of egos to feed and petty jealousies abound. Anything from your appearance, if you've got the better car etc.

And if you manage to undercut someone else and give better service a bonus for you but a loss for your competitor. Ouch! You've just stepped on somebody elses territory. Also, the big companies don't like it if you undercut them significantly. But a small operator can because they don't have a large staff or overhead to pay out. But again petty jealousies will surface and the knives from.the big players might be out

It might not take so long to build the business as you think. If you can get a steady corporate client from the beginning there will always be work. Guaranteed.

If you can manage to secure a contract, you're not good...  You're Golden!

The truck I bought did serve duty at YVR (under contract) for snow clearing...

This doesn't transfer to a new owner, sadly...

Its not that difficult.

But same time it isn't the most exciting work.

Nor terribly well paying.

But its there.

There is a need for it.

It is always there.and it pays the bills.

Yet many drivers don't want to do it.

The ECM (Electronic Control Module) was $5,000 alone.

One injector had to be replaced.  $1,000.

Total bill was around $7,500.

Merry Christmas!  One day I'll make a profit...
