Vancouver is SOOOOO terrible for pedestrian assholes.  I really think we need to hit more of them to keep them on their toes.

They need to start ticketing and fining pedestrians...itsnot funny anymore...these assholes dont even look, they just jump out and cross the street...ffs, just because you are a pedestrian doesnt mean cars are going to stop for you...not everyone sees you...

Pretty much the same here also, unless they have installed a "walk/don't walk" pedestrian traffic control sign.



That being said, it's still the duty of the driver to attempt to avoid hitting a pedestrian, even if the idiot is jaywalking.  That way if he still bounces 60 feet through the air after hitting the hood and windshield, the driver shouldn't have an issue with liability.

I actually hate getting dispatched to jobs in downtown Van.  Had to spend a few days on a job right near Main & Hastings.  Especially when it's pony trailer work, I have to be extra-vigilant with the idiot pedestrians.



I'm surprised more don't get run over, to be honest.  And throw many shitty Asian drivers in the mix there also, and it isn't the "funnest" place to work.

The thing is, pedestrians seem to just assume that whoever is driving will stop for them....thats NOT the case...drivers dont always see people in the middle of the road...esp at night when a person is wearing all black...like hello!?!?



I wear bright colors at night and sometimes put a flasher or a glowy on LO...i never buy black umbrella either...always colorful ones....clear if I can find them.



Ive seen mothers as dumb as standing at a corner on a busy street waiting to cross...the mother is standing on the sidewalk edge and she has her stroller with her baby on the street...and cars are zipping past just mere inches away..like holy fawk!! Im not kidding...i seen this so many times...this is how stupid people are....



.....ive witnessed people get hit by cars...i seen the broken bones, blood everywhere....its not funny....people need to wake up and realize they are not invincible.



And yes! Same goes for the texting and fb updates....this is another reason why a driver wont see you....ffs...my kid even knows this!!  My kid is smarter than some adults...this is just how stupid people have become today.
