I am. I only do the oilfield consulting thing winters now, but the winter feels long. About seven more weeks and I am back on my farm until next December. After thirty one years, I am sick of it. I want to farm, not follow a coiled tubing unit around which is what I am doing right now. It's less money than making hole, but I am working closer to home.

Anyone else feeling burnt out from work and needing a change? What is it about your job that gets to you the most?

I enjoy going to work everyday and I am thankful for my job..

There is a lot of politics where I work, but I like the ladies I work with..

My husband was feeling a bi unhappy at his company when they were sending him all over the world..

Now that he's home every night he's happier....I am too.

I would prefer coming home to you at night than the guys in a camp too. What I do is a young man's game. At least I only do this crap less than four months a year now.

Maybe you might want to try a different job.  May take a pay cut, but if it makes your day to day life better, its worth it.  Id rather be happy than have lots of money.

Money certainly doesn't guarantee happiness, look at Semen! Costa Ebola's answer to Ebeneezer Scrooge.  ac_wot

I always feel a little anxious at RRSP/tax time. In three weeks it is over and I treat myself to a golf trip to Florida. ac_dance

I am getting worn down by my job. The rules are getting more cumbersome all the time. Seven years until retirement and warm weather. I can hardly wait.

@realAzhyaAryola

When I leave the pool in the mornings and the lifeguard hands me back my membership card, I say, "Now I get ready for my easier job." Hehe.

I would do that too if it did not mean getting up early.

I haven't worked in ten months, so no I'm not feeling bummed out by my career.

That is what I am doing this winter. I could be fifteen hours from home making more money punching wells in, but I make less money doing workovers closer to home. Still, I am not at home. But I will be the end of next month until the following December.

I go back to work when you finish for the season. I'm looking forward to getting off my fat ass and contributing again.

I'm really tired of my job, of working for others. Seriously considering starting my own business. Hard work and skill doesn't get one anything in the Aussie workforce anymore.  All the regulations and union mindsets means the bell curve is set even lower. I'm ready to take a pay cut if it means I'm not dealing with this socialist crap anymore.
Blahhhhhh...

Right there, that is what it is all about. I do not want any job anymore. Totally sick of working for the man and following his rules.
