QuoteJust a day after they bombed a village in the Mayadeen area, near the ISIS capital of Raqqa, US warplanes launched yet more airstrikes, and once again the indications out of the area is that everyone slain in the attacks was a civilian, bringing the two-day toll in excess of 115.

Today's bombings, according to the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights, killed at least 80 civilians, overwhelmingly women and children. The slain were said to include "relatives" of ISIS fighters, including both Syrians and Moroccans. The other nine civilians were just locals, including five children.

There has been no official statement from the Pentagon on either of the two days of strikes, and no indication on why the US attacked the village, apart from it being sort of close to Raqqa, and the US has been launching a lot of airstrikes around the outskirts of Raqqa, nominally in support of the Kurdish YPG's advances.

The US has been killing a soaring number of civilians in airstrikes in recent months, occasionally admitting to incidents, but generally keeping up the pretense of "enormous care" taken to not kill even more. While the Pentagon insists targeting rules have not been relaxed, the soaring death toll is clearly raising doubts about US policy.

Anybody think this is a good idea? That this is somehow protecting us and lessening terrorist threats?

You know this so called news is pretty much only on Jason Ditz's blog. But, anyway neither you nor Scouse seems to care about the accuracy of your sources.

Just so you know, even if this story was true, it is not the same as a targeted attack on civilians like in Manchester.

When did I say it was the same as the attack on Manchester? Are you imaging things, little guy?

Why are you posting an article from fifteen years ago?

Excuse me, no need to be snippy. This is an extremism thread or have you forgotten already. But, you seem to acknowledge the fake story you posted was not a targeted extremist attack even if it did happen.

And of course you do understand why I posted that link even though you are trying to play dumb. ac_boring

He has not forgotten. His mission is to deflect / divert from islamic supremacy using anything he can and he actually thinks it works.

Current dumb tactic is to call strong people after his own type, "PC" or in this case "Snowflakes", thinking it effective, sigh.

...I guess whenone wishes to fight but have no ammo, one gets desperate and tries anything

Anyhow, I let this go for now  ..... playing along (for now) a few days ago I read that IS had herded 100 or so civilians into a building and went to great lengths to make it appear to satellite to be an IS headquarters / armory which was bombed as such. Not going to look up links as topic doesn't fit here anyhow.

This section title never did quite hit the mark to me

I guess I should follow through on my earlier plan and change title to

"Global Supremacism (Description = "Violent Acts, More Subtle Methods, Assistance from Victims, etc."

 with a sub-category for

"Localized Group Supremacism & Very Vile Acts of Bigotry" to allow for other very bad but MUCH smaller groups and acts .... which this OP does not even quite fit either

All to be strictly enforced as to appropriate content

QUESTION TO ALL]

How do you "Snowflakes & PCers   " take to that concept?

I'm deflecting and diverting because I'm talking about bombs killing 115 in two days in MY "Bombs kill 115 in two days" thread?

There are plenty of other threads(you only make a few of them every day) for you to babble on and on about your Islamic supremacy bs.

So fuck off.

QuoteU.S. DOUBLED FUEL SUPPORT FOR SAUDI BOMBING CAMPAIGN IN YEMEN AFTER DEADLY STRIKE ON FUNERAL

Last October, an airstrike in Yemen by the Saudi Arabia-led coalition hit a funeral, killing more than 130 people and drawing global condemnation. Yet in the months following that strike, the United States doubled the amount of fuel it provided to coalition jets, according to figures obtained from the U.S. military. The numbers underline the fact that U.S. support for the campaign has continued and even increased despite growing attention to civilian casualties and alleged war crimes by the coalition.

But the House of Representatives just passed over the chance to vote on legislation that would have tracked the fuel the Pentagon gives to the Saudi coalition and prohibited refueling of coalition aircraft unless the Pentagon could assure Congress that subsequent missions wouldn't hit civilians or targets contained on no-strike lists.

An amendment to the National Defense Authorization Act, filed by Democratic Congressman Ro Khanna of California with bipartisan support, failed to pass the Rules Committee last night, and so it won't be up for a vote. Khanna's amendment would have "at the very least require[d] reporting to Congress about exactly how many flights are being refueled, where the location is and verification that they aren't involved in civilian deaths," the Congressman told The Intercept.

"I am disappointed that the House will not vote on amendments that would enforce greater oversight of U.S. operations in Yemen," said Khanna. "Congress is doing a disservice in not acknowledging the civilian impact of our military operations in the Middle East. We must instill measures to prevent further atrocities in Yemen."

What is with all the bombings of weddings and funerals in the War of Terror?

Should the US be complicit in the murders of thousands of innocent civilians? How is causing war fighting terror?

QuoteIt Took Obama More Than Two Years to Kill This Many Civilians. It Took Trump Less Than Six Months.

A new investigation shows that President Donald Trump's bombing campaign against ISIS over several months has already led to nearly as many civilian deaths as those overseen by the Obama White House over several years.

According to an Airwars investigation conducted for The Daily Beast, at least 2,300 civilians were killed by coalition strikes from 2015 until the end of Obama's term earlier this year. But as of July 13, roughly six months into Trump's presidency, over 2,200 civilians have likely died from coalition strikes.

That translates to roughly 80 civilian casualties each month in Iraq and Syria during the Obama White House; during Trump's short tenure in the White House, it's been roughly 360 per month.

Samuel Oakford writes. "Airwars estimates that the minimum approximate number of civilian deaths from Coalition attacks will have doubled under Trump's leadership within his first six months in office."

The reason for the trend may be attributed to the result of new war plan to defeat ISIS. It includes a shift to what Secretary of Defense James "Mad Dog" Mattis called "annihilation tactics" to defeat ISIS fighters and the president's having "delegated authority to the right level to aggressively and in a timely manner move against enemy vulnerabilities."

In March, the "month after Mattis delivered the new plan, U.S.-led forces likely killed more civilians than in the first 12 months of Coalition strikes—combined," Oakford writes.

QuoteUS airstrike accidentally kills 16 Afghan police officers who were fighting the Taliban

An errant US airstrike has killed 16 Afghan National Police officers who were fighting the Taliban and wounded two others.

Helmand provincial police chief Abdul Ghafar Safi said on Saturday that the death toll in Friday's airstrike was determined after a site inspection of the compound in Gereshk District.

The Pentagon confirmed the airstrike on the Security Forces compound happened during a US-supported operation against Taliban insurgents in the area, and offered its condolences to the families of the security forces who were killed.
