I think pedophilia is a sexuality as written above which is why recitivism rates are so high amoung pedophiles.  Like gay or straight, it's hard wired and folllows similar paths in terms of sexual development processes.  In other words, you can't jail them out of being pedophiles.



In terms of "rights", I would like to see them be able to access mental health treatment without being reported unless an act has occurred and a child has been harmed.  I would much rather have these people get help than just be left to their own devices.  



I don't care about their rights per de but I care about the safety of children.  If having unreported access to mental health means fewer kids are abused, I'm all for it.

Going by what I've seen and read, there is a decent number of them that WANT help but because they'll be reported, they don't seek help.  Personally, I would rather have them talking to professionals than trying to deal with their urges on their own.  Generally those who are professionally treated have already offended.  That's not good enough IMHO.

I can think of a few very rich and famous pedophiles who had the means to get help anywhere in the world, but instead chose to travel the world seeking child victims..



I'm not opposed to trying it, but I don't expect much if any success.

those are huge organisations, unless member names or private pics get leaked you'd have to hack any webpage they gather, data mine them and creep their close relatives check out the full scenario, lots of work for some sick pee-on but every profile scrape renders results.. those groups have a lot of secrecy since it appears they can still remain active which means money and power are involved.. those fights are better left for more capable hands.. That is actually an option only they do it chemically (chemical castration).  It's supposedly effective too.  But if they went to the doctor and said "Hi!  I'm a pedo and I want to be chemically castrated" under current law, they would be reported to the police.
