What kind of tree is that?

An almond tree. This area was once farmland, and the farmer planted a grove of almond trees. They are feral now, but have a beautiful blossom and attract birds and bees, and so have been left.



We do not harvest any almonds from them.



BECAUSE THOSE FUCKING BIRDS EAT THE LOT BEFORE WE CAN GET TO THEM.

A Black faced cuckoo shrike.



Neither a cuckoo, or a shrike...believed to be related to Orioles. Sorry about the poor quality...it was a rushed shot on a heavily backlit subject.
