The Australian alps span the border between Victoria and New South Wales, with the higher peaks on the New South Wales side. There are also some snow covered peaks in Tasmania.



Victoria is closest to us, and more accessible, but its still a 900km drive. But its a beautiful area with so much to see, and lots to do even if you don't ski (which my 66 year old knees strictly prohibit).
