Most likely scenario from the evidence is-- someone in the family got angry and hit her in the head with an object.  She passed out and they assumed they had killed her. then that person and/or other family members broke the basement window, forged the note, and garrotted her to make it look like an intruder did it.

The investigation was Covered up from the start , as MR Ramsey played Golf with the Chief of Police every week .



The investigating Detectives Know who killed her , but were stopped from arresting her mother .



So they resigned .



The Rich yet again getting away with Murder  .

If that was a working class Family they ALL , would of been arrested .
