Latest Austin bombing, # 7 or so was a Goodwill Outlet?

Police are saying not connected to other bombs - I agree a killer rarely changes MO, but how can they know for sure it's not connected?

Strange from day one - seems no "similarity" of victims

Also, the rate has increased rapidly .. from a week + to more than one in a day ... from porch steps to then a trip wire to Fedex parcels ... no pattern which is very unusual ... possible different perps, copycats, but even that would be unusual

http://www.foxnews.com/us/2018/03/20/is-austin-bomber-showing-shades-unabomber.html">Randall Rogan, a Wake Forest University professor who is an expert on forensic linguistic analysis and worked with the FBI on the Unabomber case, saysthat as time passes it's likely the person or people behind the explosions will seek more than just the thrill of the crimes themselves. Rogan says the perpetrator will desire more recognition, something that could drive them to make contact with police or release some sort of communique or manifesto. He said the new complexity of the fourth bombing might suggest it is a test for something even bigger.

"This is an increase and expansion of sophistication and most likely a trial run for something to come in the future," Rogan said.

On March 19, authorities in Austin made a public plea with whomever is behind the blasts, and the city's police chief, Brian Manley, promised to listen to the bomber and attempt to understand the person's motive.

Rogan says the tactic may be a bad move.

"It puts law enforcement and police in a down power dynamic and instills power on the person," he said. "It gives (perpetrators) a sense of satisfaction, of pride, of accomplishment, that they are in charge."

Other profilers believe that the Austin suspect is displaying, through their actions, behavior that is simply to attract attention and that every move made thus far is deliberate.

"This person is displaying a histrionic personality," Jim Kenney, a former FBI profiler and special agent, said to Fox News. "This person is intelligent, focused and manipulative. A player. A catch-me-if-you-can type."

Austin serial bombing suspect killed in dramatic confrontation; ID'd as 24-year-old man

Mark Anthony Conditt, 24, was named as the bomber, an ATF source told Fox News. A picture of Conditt in 2013 from his mother's Facebook page was authenticated by The Austin-American Statesman.

Conditt was killed near the motel he was traced to by authorities using surveillance footage from a Federal Express drop-off store and cell phone triangulation technology, according to The Austin American-Statesman.

He died after fleeing the motel in a car, with police hot on his tail. He drove into a ditch, sparking the fatal confrontation.

Police said Conditt detonated two package bombs as police closed in, firing at him. It was not immediately clear whether he died from the bombs or shots fired by police. One officer was knocked back by the blasts, but none were seriously hurt.

1. killed near the motel he was traced to thanks to surveillance footage from a Federal Express drop-off store, The Austin American-Stateman reported.

2. The authorities were able to gather information after police noticed the subject shipped an explosive device from a Sunset Valley FedEx store, a suburb approximately 25 minutes away from Austin. The evidence included the security footage from the store, as well as store receipts obtained showing suspicious transactions.

3. The authorities were also able to look at the individual's Google search history, the Statesman noted, which gave them further insight into his dealings.

4. The authorities were also able to use cell phone triangulation technology, which provides a cell phone's location data via information collected from nearby cell towers.

Sounds like good and comprehensive detective work to me

I didn't know how easy it was to make a bomb until the Boston marathon bombing.
