Quote from: "Wazzzup"In the wake of President Donald Trump's directive to deploy National Guard troops to the US-Mexico border, senators in Mexico are calling on their government to retaliate by cutting off cooperation on security and immigration issues.

They are cooperating on those issues?  Really?  REALLY?

QuoteIn a nonbinding resolution approved unanimously on Wednesday, (Mexican) senators said they condemned Trump's "baseless and offensive comments about Mexico and Mexicans and demand the treatment that the relationship between neighbors, partners, and allies requires."

Lawmakers rejected "categorically the intention of President Donald Trump to militarize the border with Mexico and consider such action one insult more."

Mexico is like the neighbor who lets his dogs shit all over your lawn, and then gets angry that you're putting a fence up.

BTW If canada ever wanted to put a wall up on the Can-Am Border I wouldn't be "offended" IMO Every nation should have the right to control its borders.[/quote]
Any country other than the USA(except for Canada) would have taken action long ago to block the flow of drugs and illegal aliens.

Right, And we should have done it long ago, so much damage has already been done.  Better late than never though.

I don't understand why they didn't do something about it when there was bipartisan support for it.

Americans don't seem to a make any distinctinction between lawful and unlawful immigration.

that's a good question. I think what happened is firstly we have  had a problem with illegals and drugs coming over since the 60s.  But the immigration was always a trickle.  GW Bush eased up on immigration and then Obama basically stopped enforcing illegal immigration laws all together.  that's when people realized we had a huge problem.  and that is one of the main reasons Trump won the republican nomination, because he is the only one who looked serious about cutting off Muslim immigration and illegals.

It was like the Muslim crisis in Europe. some people knew it was bad, but when Merkel let in a million Muslims into Germany, people that weren't paying attention before started paying attention.

So, illegal immigration from Mexico was only a trickle until 2001 with George W. Bush?

there's a llot pof deliberate deception regarding that.  I have lost counht of articles I have seen where the word illegal is left off deliberately and the news will just say immigration.  The objective- to portray oppostition to illegal immigration as opposing all immigration and of course the obligatory ad hominems that go with it-- xenophobe, racist et al.

Actually I'm not sure, I found this graph (I don;t know if the source is good or not) but I think the problem had to be preceived as serious before people woke up and said "there is a problem here."

it looks like the immigration snowball started during Clinton with about  4  million illegals added, and then Bush with another 4 million, it appears that Obama didn't really add many, that surprises me, but if the graph is accurate, I guess that's what happened.

They are brown and they arrive at the border... They must be let in..

I generalize and say brown because many of these refugees arent even from war torn countries... Indians and latinos have also arrived seeking asylum.

This should have been ended long ago.  Better late then never though (I am sure the libs will challenge in courts)

Catch and release, that's what they do when they find moose or cougars within Calgary city limits.

Its a good policy for widlelife, who you release into the wold and hope to never hear from again.

When soemone is here illegally they are given a ticket to show up for court.  And much like the wildlife, 95% are never heard from again.   So they get away with it. But hopefully not anymore.

It did level off after the 2008 financial crisis.
