Bricktop

Its Magpie attack season soon!!!

I'm trying to get a decent shot of a silver eye...damn things are too small and fast in the wild. I don't like nature shots with man made objects in them...but sometimes its the only way to catch them. In the wild they zoom in, are stationary for a few seconds, then gone. They are the size of a thumb.

That's why I'm thrilled with mine... I have grape vines... caught a beauty in the grapevines

Then I made a tray up of fruit and started using my 4K feature.

I because of this shot, I got invited to the special bird photographers page...

Cardinals have become rather rare around here.

Even blue Jays are not that common anymore.

I don't know. I hadn't put much thought into it until I saw this bird thread. I live within forty five minutes of Metro Toronto and urban  sprawl has extended to my city. Probably a connection there.

You might have too many apex preditors in the environment... it might be out of balance at the moment.

Apex predators should be roughly at 10%... more than that, it affects the environment but these days with roads and dwindling natural habitat, everything is affected.

We've had wolves, grizzlies, black bears and cougars captured inside the city limits of Calgary.

Those small birds most likely are being attacked by rats though.

Rat steal eggs and eat baby birds... they can reach places cats can't.

People overlook rats but they can become a significant problem.
