There is nothing so duplicitous and hypocritical as a multinational corporation.

They should stay away from taking sides on certain issues..

Particularly when they look like hypocrites.

I'm not sure that's their motive.  Like I posted above NIKE has done other activist stuff.

there are a lot of leftists who are so fanatical they are willing to sacrifice money for preaching leftism, this is something I tried to explain to peaches.  the media is a big example -- ESPN a sports network that politicized sports has lost tons of viewers.  the NFL likewise.

Either way I hope they lose big.  politicization of everything and having corporations become activist leftist assholes is not  good for America.

Another corporation turns political activist

They can't just make blue jeans, the same way nike can't just make shoes, and the same way the NFL can't just be about football.

progtardism is a cancer that spreads to everything.

Quote from: "Bricktop"It seems Nike's idiocy is costing them BIG.

Isn't it too early to say.

QuoteA new report from Morning Consult reveals consumer opinions of Nike have shifted rapidly since announcing their new campaign with former NFL quarterback Colin Kaepernick. Across nearly every demographic, perceptions of Nike's brand have fallen, including among key consumer groups.

https://morningconsult.com/form/nike-kaepernick-report/">https://morningconsult.com/form/nike-kaepernick-report/

Before the announcement, Nike had a net +69 favorable impression among consumers, it has now declined 34 points to +35 favorable.

No Boost Among Key Demos:

Among younger generations, Nike users, African Americans, and other key demographics, Nike's favorability declined rather than improved.

Purchasing Consideration Also Down:

Before the announcement, 49 percent of Americans said they were absolutely certain or very likely to buy Nike products. That figure is down to 39 percent now.

The Effect on the NFL Seems Small, For Now:

Forty percent of consumers said Nike's campaign does not make them more or less likely to watch/attend NFL games — 21 percent said more likely and 26 percent said less likely (14 percent didn't know).

Its still too early to tell.  But so far it looks like they probably hurt themselves.  We'll see.

I sure as hell hope so.

Politics and business make for difficult bedfellows.

Of course, Nike have painted themselves into a very difficult corner.

If they reverse their decision, they will look shallow and opportunistic.

Over the summer they had come to an agreement that players would either stand or stay on the locker room, but they wimped out.  And once again they are not going to do anything about it.  So I won't be watching football again this year.

progtards ruin everything they touch.
