Alex Ovechkin and the Capitals are squashing the Red Wings, 6-1. They are unstoppable. The Caps' captain just scored a hat trick. He leads in goals this season.

USA falls to Finland in World Juniors Ice Hockey Championship.

Consistently, the Flames are in 2nd place. They have a chance to be in the playoffs. Not the Oilers though.

There is no battle for Alberta. Connor McDavid, Captain of the Edmonton Oilers is suspended for two games for headshot on Nick Leddy of the New York Islanders. It will not make a difference this season, however. The Oilers are in 27th place in the league, close to last place. Only the top 16 teams will make it to the playoffs.



The Calgary Flames, on the other hand, remain in 2nd place in the league. Hot Hot Hot Flames.
