On our corporate site a month ago we had 100s of "Declined Sale" emails (sent from payment page when a successful sale or decline is issued)

Called our credit card vendor and they said it was bots geared to submit credit card numbers from stolen credit cards.

A couple went through so vendor reimburses  transaction fee



People buy up cards and have bots try very low money purchases (1$)   to see it they go through.

For the few that succeed, they know that card is active
