What an ignorant progressive Dumbocrat. This would be the biggest "news" story of the year of Ron Desantis said this.

Quote"Right now we have, you know, young black kids growing up in the Bronx who don't even know what the word 'computer' is," Gov. Kathy Hochul blabbered into a microphone Monday.

Hochul made the remarks at the Milken Institute Global Conference Monday where she was primarily discussing her $400 million Empire AI initiative that recently passed as part of the state budget.

Millions of people in this country are forced to go to food banks and Trudeau is giving billions of dollars to corporations.

QuoteEV industry huge gamble for taxpayers

Someone should tell Prime Minister Justin Trudeau and Ontario Premier Doug Ford that creating a successful electric vehicle industry in Canada will require a lot more than throwing taxpayers' money at it.

That's the easy part, which Trudeau and Ford have been announcing over the past year, jointly bestowing mega-billions of dollars in public support for EV battery plants.

Parliamentary Budget Officer Yves Giroux has said it will take 20 years for the two governments to break even in recovering up to $28.2 billion in subsidies awarded to two companies — $15 billion to Stellantis-LG Energy Solutions to build a battery production plant in Windsor and $13.2 billion to Volkswagen to do the same in St. Thomas.

On Thursday, Trudeau and Ford announced another $5 billion deal in support of a $15-billion project by Honda to build another battery plant in Alliston, along with the construction of other facilities to create a supply chain for EVs.

They said it will create 1,000 jobs, secure 4,200 existing ones and lead to spinoff employment of more than 28,000 related jobs.

What they didn't say is that creating an EV supply chain from scratch involves multiple massive projects that will have to be simultaneously developed and co-ordinated.

These include mining and transporting the raw materials for EV batteries to production facilities, manufacturing EV batteries, manufacturing EV vehicles, cathode and anode manufacturing, and EV battery recycling.

The good news is Canada, has an abundance of the metals, minerals and other raw materials needed to build EV batteries and compete with the global market leader, which is China.

But getting those raw materials out of the ground will require an unprecedented mining boom in ecologically sensitive parts of Canada, including Ontario's Ring of Fire, with governments needing to dramatically streamline their existing environmental processes for getting mines and roads approved.

While some Indigenous groups favour these developments, others, who will have to be meaningfully consulted, are opposed.

The auto sector is vital to the Canadian economy so it's hardly surprising Trudeau's Liberals and Ford's Progressive Conservatives are boasting about their support of it.

But we won't know whether the multi-billion-dollar public investments they are making into Canada's EV sector today will give taxpayers good value for money spent, until years down the road.

News & Current Events / Manipulating weather data
February 18, 2024, 12:30:29 PM
I read this yesterday.

I am not going to say if weather data is being deliberately manipulated. This is only food for thought.
QuoteHAARP IONOSPHERIC HEATERS DISCOVERED WORLDWIDE USED FOR WEATHER MODIFICATION! Can you handle the truth?
HAARP isn't just in Alaska, it's spread evenly all over our world! Controlled in tandem with other weather modification programs, all working simultaneously together to bring "hell on earth", meaning time is modified on a scale many people cannot imagine! Every country has its own HAARP ionospheric heater, Colorado and Massachusetts even has one!
Their sinister goal, to destroy the natural environment of our earth by blaming it on "Climate Change." Ionospheric heater: "Powerful HF transmitter (2.8 to 10 MHz) that induces a temporary and controlled change of temperature of the electrons at the desired altitude".
Arays of heating antenna pump electricity from the ground into the atmosphere! This artificial electrical alteration in our ionosphere creates many different effects.
These experiments are highly controversial and probably not only affect our atmosphere, but they could also affect your mood. High-energy microwaves can pinch the electromagnetic field in the ionosphere like harp-playing fingers. This can produce very low-frequency radio signals that can penetrate land or water – sometimes up to depths more than 100 meters (328 feet) into the ocean, making it a possible communication method for submarines.
According to an earlier report by the South China Morning Post, China is now building an even larger and advanced facility in Sanya, Hainan, with the capacity to manipulate the ionosphere across the entire South China Sea. Ultra low frequency waves generated by these powerful structures could even affect the functioning of the brain and human body, causing side effects such as; headaches, cancer, loss of concentration and liver problems, just to name a few. Spraying heavy metal particles means increasing atmospheric conductivity (global warming or climate change is the cover article), which, if used together with these heaters, are used to create all kinds of "natural" disasters, such as starting fires that burn houses instead of trees, creating earthquakes, modifying atmospheric electrical properties so much that it creates hurricanes, tornadoes and floods.

Charlie Angus should never get on a flight again.

QuoteC-372, also known as the Fossil Fuel Advertising Act, was tabled Monday as a private member's bill by Charlie Angus, the MP for Timmins-James Bay and a longtime member of the NDP caucus.

"Today, I am proud to rise and introduce a bill that would make illegal false advertising by the oil and gas industry," Angus announced in the House of Commons.

He added that the oil and gas sector was trafficking in "disinformation" and "killing people." Angus also twice framed his bill as the dawn of the industry's "big tobacco moment" — an apparent reference to Canada's blanket federal ban on tobacco advertising.

But C-372 goes well beyond merely banning advertising by oil and gas companies.

As a private member's bill introduced by the member of a party with only 25 seats in the House of Commons, Bill C-372 has almost zero chance of passing. But as written, the act would technically apply to any Canadian who is found to be speaking well of the oil industry, or of oil generally.

"It is prohibited for a person to promote a fossil fuel, a fossil fuel-related brand element or the production of a fossil fuel," reads the act.

Violate this as a regular citizen, and the act prescribes summary conviction and a fine of up to $500,000. Violate it as an oil company, and the punishment could be as strict as two years in jail or a fine of $1,000,000.

Angus defines "promotion" so broadly that it could technically apply to something as simple as a Facebook post or even an "I Love Canadian Oil and Gas" bumper sticker.

Promotion, according to Bill C-372, means "‍a representation about a product or service by any means ... that is likely to influence and shape attitudes, beliefs and behaviours about the product or service."

The act also criminalizes a laundry list of common pro-oil and gas arguments, even ones that have a reliable basis in fact.

Section 8 of the act makes it a crime for "a person" to argue that a fossil fuel is "less harmful than other fossil fuels."

Natural gas, for instance, generates energy with far fewer emissions or pollutants than diesel, coal, bunker fuel or any number of "dirtier" fuels. This is why the federal government taxes natural gas at a lower benchmark than higher-emission fuels.

Nevertheless, according to C-372, anybody making such an argument should face a jail term of up to two years or a "fine not exceeding $500,000."

Let's face it, billionaires, the media, academia, and corporate America want Biden, not worker's party candidate Trump.

As Ricky from the Trailer Park Boys would say, "you don't need rocket appliances" to know that mass immigration means inadequate health care, education, roads, and other essential services. And our housing crisis in Canada is entirely because of too much demand caused by adding 1.5 million people a year.

QuoteLast week, in response to growing concern about fast-rising immigration levels, the Trudeau government announced it will cap the number of international student permits over the next two years. Canada's population increased by 1.2 million last year, following a gain approaching one million in 2022, with those increases almost entirely due to immigration.

The most striking feature of the international migration data is the vertiginous rise in the number of "non-permanent residents" (NPRs). They have accounted for most of the newcomers arriving in Canada since 2020, dwarfing the ranks of new permanent immigrants.

NPRs consist of temporary foreign workers and international students (many of whom also work), along with smaller numbers of asylum seekers and refugees, together with some of their families.

The stock of NPRs has skyrocketed under the Trudeau government, reaching 2.5 million last year. This means one in every 16 people walking Canada's streets is a "temporary" immigrant; in some large metro areas, the NPR share is significantly higher.

The federal government's slapdash handling of immigration has caused problems for other levels of government. The dramatic increase in NPRs occurred without any advance notice, coordination or planning with the provinces, let alone the cities where most newcomers settle.

After waving the issue away, federal ministers have finally acknowledged that soaring immigration has aggravated the housing affordability crisis and put added pressure on stretched public services.

Remarkably, until last week's announcement, there had been no federal government limit on student visas and no meaningful oversight of the rapidly expanding international education "industry," which has largely driven the surge in NPRs.

In addition to the effects on housing demand and public services, Canada's booming population has contributed to an erosion of prosperity, as measured by the value of economic output on a per-person basis. Nationally, per-person Gross Domestic Product fell by at least 2% last year and is set for a repeat performance in 2024. Canada is getting poorer, even as our population increases faster than in any other developed country.

Why has the Trudeau government been so keen to turbo-charge population growth? The principal reason cited by federal ministers is to offset the effects of aging. Canada is indeed getting older, like every other developed country. Unfortunately, economic research finds that immigration has relatively little impact on the age structure of the population over time. Nor does it have a measurable influence — either positive or negative — on average incomes, wages or productivity. Simply put, most published academic research suggests that neither population size nor immigration is significantly correlated with higher levels of GDP per person.

It follows that Canada's current economic development strategy — one premised on strong population growth — is unlikely to increase average incomes or living standards. It's worth noting that many of the most affluent countries have small-to-modest-sized populations. According to the CIA World Factbook, of the 25 richest countries as measured by GDP per person, only one (the United States) is home to more than 200 million people. Among the 30 richest countries, just three meet the 200 million population threshold.

Ultimately, prosperity does not primarily depend on population size. It's far more important for countries to be productive and innovative, to nurture entrepreneurial wealth creation, to build high-quality workforces and to establish and maintain well-functioning institutions. To improve incomes and living standards, Canadian policymakers should direct their efforts to these areas.

Secretary of State Antony Blinken warned that the ongoing conflict in the Middle East, which escalated after a drone strike killed three U.S. soldiers in Jordan, appears to be the region's 'most dangerous' period in about 50 years.

Speaking to reporters on Monday, the top U.S. diplomat said: "This is an incredibly volatile time in the Middle East. We've not seen a situation as dangerous as the one we're facing now across the region since at least 1973, and arguably even before that," according to a State Department transcript of a press conference he held with NATO's secretary-general. He was referring to the Yom Kippur War of that year, fought by Israel against Egypt, Syria, Morocco, Cuba, and Saudi Arabia, which lasted about two weeks.

News & Current Events / Hamas Christmas in New York
December 25, 2023, 02:36:46 PM
Groups sympathetic to terror organization Hamas planned and executed a massive rally in New York City on Saturday after vowing to disrupt the Christmas holiday as a means of encouraging people to join the largely anti-Semitic Boycott, Divestment and Sanctions (BDS) movement against Israel. The groups, including radical liberal groups People's Forum and Palestinian Youth Movement, organized the protests, which drew huge crowds to Fifth Avenue in Manhattan, which disrupted traffic and doubtless left numerous already-panicked last minute shoppers disgruntled at the disruption.

An immigrant, probably a Muslim went on a random stabbing rampage in Dublin, Ireland.

QuoteThree young children were among five people injured in a knife attack in Dublin on Thursday that sparked riots in the city centre and which police have not yet ruled out any motive over, including whether it could be terror-related.

A five-year-old girl was receiving emergency treatment after sustaining serious injuries in the stabbing. A man in his late 40s, also being treated for serious injuries, was arrested by police who said they are not looking for any other suspect.

Police said it appeared the man attacked a number of people on Dublin's Parnell Square shortly after 1330 GMT. Members of the public intervened at an early stage of the attack.

A woman in her 30s was also being treated for serious injuries while the two other children, a five-year-old boy and six-year-old girl, suffered less serious injuries. The boy has been discharged from hospital.

The scene was still sealed off shortly before 1800 GMT when a group of around 50 anti-immigrant protesters briefly broke through a police barrier. Some shouted "get them out" and one kicked the wing mirror off a police car. Another was draped in an Irish flag.

A larger crowd then began throwing objects and firing fireworks at riot police in helmets and shields, once they were deployed, and the rioting spiraled out of control. The crowds began to disperse around 2100 GMT.

Police would not comment on the nationality of the detained man.

Niagara border crossings closed after explosion on bridge connecting New York and Ontario

QuoteThe Peace and Rainbow bridges connecting Canada and the U.S. are closed after an explosion on the American side on the Rainbow Bridge, an official says.

Ron Rienas, general manager of the Peace Bridge, told CBC Hamilton the bridges were shut down on Wednesday afternoon.

On social media platform X, formerly known as Twitter, the FBI Buffalo account said: "The FBI Buffalo Field Office is investigating a vehicle explosion at the Rainbow Bridge, a border crossing between the U.S. and Canada in Niagara Falls. The FBI is coordinating with our local, state and federal law enforcement partners in this investigation. As this situation is very fluid, that's all we can say at this time."

Trudeau's losing streak continues.

QuoteRegulations prohibiting six single-use plastics — stir sticks, plastic checkout bags, cutlery, straws, six-pack rings and some food service packaging — were announced last June by Environment and Climate Change Canada. The government first made a cabinet order to regulate those plastics in 2021, declaring the items to be toxic substances under the Canadian Environmental Protection Act.

But Justice Angela Furlanetto of the Federal Court ruled on Thursday that the government's classification was a stretch, calling the designated items "too broad to be listed" as toxic substances. She declared the cabinet order to be "both unreasonable and unconstitutional."

A federal judge found former President Donald Trump defrauded banks and insurance companies by illegally inflating the valuations of real estate holdings.

New York state Supreme Court Judge Arthur Engoron said Tuesday that Trump overestimated the value of his properties and his net worth in order to seek favorable financing for about a decade.

The claim is a key part of the $250 million civil lawsuit filed by New York Attorney General Letitia James against Trump, his two sons, and the Trump Organization. The ruling allows James to impose sanctions on Trump, his co-defendants, and his attorneys.

Engoron also ruled that business certificates for the Trump Organization are to be canceled.

James claimed that Trump exaggerated his net worth by as much as $3.6 billion on financial statements given to insurers and bankers. Trump's properties in the lawsuit included the Mar-a-Lago Club in Florida and his penthouse apartment in Manhattan's Trump Tower.
