The Guest Nest / God it's so quiet here...

...which is a beautiful thing.

My neighbour phoned me tonight, asking me to keep a lookout for her escaped cat...  Sadly, the cat is most likely dinner for another animal around here, but I'll look.

Places like this still do exist, it seems...  Every single person around here is white, friendly, willing to help their neighbours, and there is absolutely no crime at all...

There is no police presence anywhere around here (I will state that you could not wear your seatbelt around here with confidence, and not get hassled)...

People look after one another on their own, as best they can it seems.

No junkies, no homeless tents/camps.

I do not see what rights have been taken away.

I'll fill you in, as a gun owner myself, from a Canadian perspective, for easy explanation...

In the US, they do have their Second Amendment right to keep and bear arms.  When stripped down to it's core, however, this right is technically limited to keeping and bearing arms on their own private property, and not in public.

In the US, the battle is always about what can be possessed in public places, as that can always be easily changed by whomever is in charge at the time...

Public sector unions are the equivalent to employment much like the CBC is equivalent to news...

Expect a healthy dose of anti-male rhetoric from both (especially if you're a white male), understand that all Injuns are good, the more refugees the better, and most importantly, since the left doesn't like resource based jobs (which actually are often hard work), we must stand against those bad white men working up north in -50 weather...  Even though they're the reason we can drive our fucking cars.

The funny thing is this:  Their public sector pension plan is actually invested into holdings like Enbridge, etc.  I know this.  However, their members are often too dumb to realize where their pension money will come from...

Here's something interesting:  The population of BC is almost 5,000,000 people, but yet there are almost 10,000,000 Care Cards in active circulation...  (For those that don't know, a Care Card is what entitles you to our socialized healthcare system in this Province)

We're providing potential healthcare to 5,000,000 people that don't even live here full time.  And the unpaid debt from those people?  Sits at almost half a billion dollars, since they didn't pay their MSP premiums.

Immigrants...  Will bring Canada to its fucking knees if we permit this to continue.

I'll do this from time to time...  Out of habit log in to an old account.

Quote from: "caskur"Hypothetically, you know yourself and your flaws, if you could change one all on your own, what flaw would it be?

Interesting question...

I guess sometimes I wish I'd be able to mellow out and enjoy life more...  You know, enjoy the ride.

My brain doesn't always make this easy for me to do, and thus life isn't always very 'rewarding' for me.

Quote from: "Fashionista"One of the scariest moments we had while camping was a bull moose that seemed  upset we were too close.

Yes.  They can get very mean also.

Fash, you need a gun.  Now, don't try to tell me Chinks don't like guns...  My trips to the gun range tells me otherwise.

Even my ex bitch the one time called me on it...  We were out in the mountains, and again I heard some massive branches crack.  This is always a warning sign that it's something big.

I suggested we get back into my truck for the moment, since we weren't that far.  Since I got there first, and 'didn't ensure her safety' in that regard, she made sure I knew it!

Next time I just drive off and leave whining bitch there...

Years ago I once went camping in the Rockies with a bitch that I was trying to impress.  Pop up tent, and a couple of sleeping bags.  Nothing more.

I'm a light sleeper, and heard some BIG branches start snapping in the middle of the night...  Then some ruffling around the tent.

I couldn't do anything at that point but lay still in my bag in my plastic tent...

It was NOT a good feeling.

North American dangerous game of any sort that become a problem can and should be put down.  None are species that are on the 'brink of extinction'...

While I am not a hunter, and do not side for nor against trophy kills, the fact remains...  Problem animals should be put down, especially if they show no fear of humans.  The only animal that is to be expected to show no fear of humans is the Polar Bear, believe it or not...  All the rest should, or there is a problem...

People living in Australia would not have the same grasp of this, nor would all North Americans for that matter.

British Columbia (except the Islands...  Vancouver Island and Haidi Gwaii ship their Grizz's back to the Mainland after they make the miles long swim there) and Alaska is Grizzly country, almost exclusively.  We have bears here.  And they can be big, mean bears.

Most of the Lower 48 will not have Grizz's...

We don't have crocs or alligators.  Not a problem.  But if they become a problem to the safety of people, one must deal with them.

Are you?  Do they give you 90 day bans at a time?

Quote from: "Peaches"What an ...er, interesting imagination you have.  :swoon:

Sometimes we still have to exercise common sense and discretion...

Some are capable of this, others sadly are not!

It should be instantaneous...  Nowadays Cops can simply call a Judge on the phone, and be granted a warrant.  Not sure why there'd be a delay...

Perhaps they're simply waiting to assemble the right 'team' to go in there and look around.

Appears that way...  Makes a simple situation difficult.

Quote from: "Peaches"Am I to understand that the nature of your work is to photograph the owner's chattels and publish the photographs to people on a message board, while you lecture me about the sacred nature of private property?

I'm just trying to understand.

It's a fucking bulldozer on private property that I snapped a photo of.  Don't try too hard to understand this...  I can also assure you the owner doesn't give a fuck.

On the other hand, if Brad Pitt appeared out of nowhere with three fingers up his ass, and his other hand playing with his cock, that could be considered 'in bad taste' if I busted out my camera at that moment...
