Shareholders voted Friday to take former president Donald Trump's media company public, a long-delayed move that will open the owner of Truth Social to stock-market investors and grant Trump a stake worth billions of dollars.

Trump will own about 60 percent of the company, which at Digital World's current share price would be worth about $3.3 billion. He and other investors could earn tens of millions more shares through an "earnout" provision tied to the stock's performance, Digital World said in an SEC filing.

But a lockup provision in the merger agreement will prevent Trump and other major shareholders from selling their shares for six months unless he is granted a waiver by the post-merger company's board.

Any lockup change or waiver will be decided by the post-merger company's board, which will be stocked with Trump allies, an SEC filing shows. The board's nominees include Trump's oldest son Donald Trump Jr.; Trump's former trade representative Robert E. Lighthizer; Linda McMahon, who headed the Small Business Administration under Trump; and Kash Patel, who served on Trump's National Security Council.

The post-merger company, which will be called Trump Media, could begin trading on the Nasdaq stock exchange as soon as Monday under the ticker symbol of Trump's initials, DJT. That symbol was also used for Trump's only other public company, Trump Hotels and Casino Resorts, which collapsed into a penny stock in less than a decade and filed for bankruptcy in 2004.

The merger will net Trump Media $300 million that Digital World initially raised from investors. Trump's allies and company executives will also be granted bundles of shares in the new company that could be worth millions of dollars.

Two brothers – ages 18 and 21 – were reportedly antler shed hunting in Georgetown, California. A mountain lion attacked the pair in the wilderness of the remote area of Northern California on Saturday afternoon.

During the vicious mountain lion attack, the brothers were separated in the area about 40 miles northeast of Sacramento.

The younger brother called 911 at 1:13 p.m. to report the animal attack, according to the El Dorado County Sheriff's Office.

Around 1:46 p.m., deputies began searching the area for the brothers.

Deputies and paramedics located the older brother and encountered the mountain lion that was crouched next to the 21-year-old California man on the ground, according to authorities. Law enforcement officers reportedly fired shots "scaring the mountain lion off so they could render aid" to the man on the ground.

Sadly, the older brother had succumbed to his injuries from the mountain lion attack and was already dead by the time emergency crews were able to get to the man.

The 18-year-old brother suffered "traumatic injuries" to his face and was transported to a local hospital for treatment, the El Dorado County Sheriff's Office stated.

A Delaware man serving a three-year sentence for marching through the halls of Congress on Jan. 6, 2021, has won early release thanks to a Supreme Court decision to review the Biden administration's novel use of an evidence-tampering law to prosecute hundreds of Jan. 6 defendants for felony obstruction of Congress.

Kevin Seefried, who was one of the first people to enter the U.S. Capitol on Jan. 6, was convicted in June 2022 following a bench trial before Judge Trevor McFadden of the U.S. District Court for the District of Columbia on four misdemeanors and a single felony obstruction charge.

Judge McFadden sentenced him on Feb. 9, 2023, to 36 months in prison and one year of supervised release.

Mr. Seefried, who's been incarcerated since May 31, 2023, appealed his conviction and sentence several times.

Following a complex legal journey tied to the fate of a separate Jan. 6 case that is now before the U.S. Supreme Court, Judge McFadden issued an order on March 26, granting Mr. Seefried's motion for release pending resolution of an appeal—but not immediately.
