That's because 'Murican elections aren't about serving the needs/interests of average citizens. This is an oversimplification but you can think of them as contests between corporatists and oligarchs, both of whom can throw obscene amounts of money at elections and while they agree in principle on many things (sustaining and expanding the 'Murican empire, for instance) they each have their own particular motivations, agendas, and preferred tactics.

That means for voters there's only the illusion of a choice. No matter which half of the duopoly is selected the voters' interests aren't going to be represented. It takes a lot of money to convince millions of people, election after election, despite all evidence to the contrary, that they matter and that politicians care about them.

It's a lie. It's all lies and bullshit.

The arrangement is about as fucked up as the Canadian healthcare system, though not quite as bad as the British. Honestly, the Americans have the better healthcare system than any of the aforementioned nations... "direct user funding" is a damned sight more efficient and overall less costly than the hamfisted efforts of these "better" nations.

You want healthcare? Save for it. And if you cannot afford it when the time comes, that's Charles Darwin telling you to shit or get off the proverbial genetic pot. Fuck government run health care, they're only in it for the money. video isnt anecdotal. Neither is signed affidavits testifying that votes were trucked in after deadlines. Neither is video of ballot mules dumping ballots at multiple locations.

Kicking out polling observers from Democrat run cities/locales.

Online connected voting machines with lawsuits designed to stop analysis of the data. 

Indiscriminate mail in votes delivered to residences/non residences often in multiples with no voter ID required.

Vote mules paid to canvas retirement villages/slums and bully people to fill out their ballots in front of them.

Using people's identities unbeknownst to them in order to contribute large sums of money in smaller packages to political parties (Actblue)

It's been proven time and again that our politicians do the bidding of the donor class and the permanent state... not the bidding of the country's citizens.

I suppose I could have & gotten away with it. Americans were handing out voter registration cards encouraging me to vote.

But that was back when regulations were lax & all you needed was a driver's license.
