they have to, chief.... nasa has caught alot of heat based on that shoddy looking piece of shit in the original "moon landing".... now they're kinda locked in as far as what they present as a lander.... they clean em up a little but they all have to have that "diy garden shed" appearance.... it doesn't matter much to them as they aren't really going anywhere.... and it'll be a long, long time before they try to fake ppl on the moon.... the original landing has set a precedent for specific physics and if they can't recreate them, its gonna do more harm than good for their dwindling "credibility"....
