I'm finding that nowadays people are losing the reason why we give gifts. I know it's easy just to give cash but I supplement that with at least one well thought out gift.

I've had to deal with a few in my day. My mom and wife tried to beg me to take more than I wanted. They didnt do too well. My wife was slightly more successful than my mom.

When my mom and step dad moved to florida, I has forced to take my great grandmothers mahogany dining table and buffet. They are at least worth something. I got quite a bit of other shit too that used to belong to my grandparents. I'm thinking of tossing a bunch of it in the next few years.

At least when my mom and step dad pass, there wont be hardly anything of sentimental value to deal with. I already have it all.
