I have a kid that learned Japanese, went to Japan, and came back and told me a lot of cool things but also how they shove you onto subways with boards, literally. He saw houses that werent as wide as our kitchen. Fukin porn everywhere in stores they went to! They couldnt even drive to one place they stayed because there's no road. The roads in neighborhood are big enough for a scooter SOMETIMES. The grocery stores are super narrow and packed. Who the fuck wants to live there? Now he did say that his girlfriend left her purse on the subway and a typical jap man chased her down to get it to her. They dont have the type of crime we have. I asked him if he would ever want to live there and he looked at me like I was crazy.

Another kid of mine,(daughter) has been to France and Italy with her husband. Italy sounds OK, but france, especially paris, is a multicultural shithole. Real dirty too. The public transportation is good tho. My son in law about got shot in Italy when he was walking toward a cop who was standing by a trash can. He was going to throw something away and the cop didnt like the look on his face I guess? They dont fuck around in Italy apparently. My son who went to Japan has a friend who's been to Italy several times too. He confirmed the militaristic nature of Italy.

My sister in law went to Russia 15ish years ago with her friend who was adopting. She was terrified entering the country. At one point, a russian soldier with a machine gun started yelling at her, she cant understand WTF he was saying. She thought she was getting tossed in the gulag. I cant remember what insignificant thing it was about now The facility where they picked up the girl her friend adopted (read: BOUGHT) was a 3rd world shithole. A physician friend of mine in Springfield visited relatives in Ukraine in the 90's. He had the hershey squirts while there and 2 weeks after. He started sending boxes of food to his relatives 2 months before going there. He told me that you go to the meat market, they lop off a piece of meat du jour from animal du jour, wrap it in newspaper, and you're thankful to have gotten meat.

Yea, I really need to travel to another country to completely change my views! LMFAO! Both my kids and son in law have a much deeper appreciation for America, I can tell you that!!!

Japan is crowded, so is New York. French cities are multicultural shitholes, so is every city in the States.

If you had spent a little time abroad, you would have a more objective view of the States.

I just told you, I've got 4 close relatives and 1 friend who've been abroad, 3 close relatives who've been abroad very recently. Now explain to me why exactly my opinion would be any different from theirs? If anything, I'd be even more critical.

Would I like to see the Eiffel Tower, The Colosseum, Swiss Alps, Lenins Body, The Nurburgring, Pompei, Scottland and Ireland, the Giza Pyramids, etc? Sure I would! But I'm speaking to how the people live under their oppressive and intrusive government regulations. I'm not interested. I'd sooner fly out to Vegas and have dinner at The Eiffel Tower Restaurant and go to the Pompei exhibit down at the Venetian followed by firing a machine gun a few blocks away!!!

I've never been to New York but I work in the Chicago area from time to time. I've been to the most congested and ghetto areas of Chicago and they arent as packed as Japan, not even remotely close....but its 10,000X more dangerous. The Cook County Jail looks like a maximum security prison. Razor wire stacked tall!

There are no goalposts. You've never lived abroad and your trip to Canada is akin to a participation award in kindergarten. 

Caskur, bless her soul, tried a similar thing on me a number of years ago when she said "Australian meat pies are the greatest in the world".

So I asked her where else in the world has she sampled other meat pies in order to come to that conclusion.

She's never left Australia... but she assured me nevertheless that Australian meat pies are the greatest because she's heard it from others.
