We are fourth... and to think our population is around 26,000,000 so what are we doing right where other nations aren't?

Well, I'm sure it has nothing to do with that good Anglo-Saxon stock, Cas, that would be racist.

Though, I am wondering why you Aussies don't have any Abos competing in the running races?  Abos must not be as fast as African stock folks.

Of course, that's racist as fuck to say too, so to put that to bed, genetics has less to do with how fast someone can run that does heart as shown in the video below.  avatar_Biggie Smiles might like this one.  Watch it til the end, bigs.  Watch this slip of a girl come out of nowhere to win a race.  This is why I watch the Olympic.

Summer McIntosh....that's Scottish eh avatar_Reggie Essent Reggie?

Shes all of 17 & has already won 3 Gold Medals for Canada...in just 1 Olympics!

Heck shes even better than Canada's other former best swimmer who is part Scottish...Penny Oleksiak

McIntosh started in the Olympics when she was only 14. So if shes only 17, she could be good for 2 or even 3 more Olympics given that some of those other women are almost 30 years old.

Well unless you dangle a carton of beer in front of them they don't do much running. I think there was an aborigine in the men's basket ball team.

It takes dedication to be an Olympian and I am afraid abos are too spoiled to do anything that takes dedication. We used to have abos take up boxing.. have you heard Lional Rose? He became a singer as well as a champion boxer..

I was so happy Ukraine won the high jumps and we got Silver and Bronze..   it was good. I also think Ukraine got a Bronze too, so the podium was shared.

Anyway I think the games are a bit boring. BUT finally the USA HAS hit 1st Place.

I hate watching sport you can see every weekend like basketball and football and tennis.

Australia needs 7 gold medals to catch the USA. I would love to knock China out of second place....lol

But at least the women who competed really were women in that one. There were no transgender athletes at that one.

But whatta difference 10-15 years makes. In just a 1/2 generation that world has become that caw caw.

Olympic gold medallist Thomas Ceccon spotted sleeping in park after ripping Olympic Village conditions

Olympic gold medallist Thomas Ceccon has been spotted sleeping in a park after complaining about the conditions in the Olympic Village.

Ethan Sears – New York Post

August 5, 2024 - 10:36AM

Sleeping on the ground isn't ideal, but it's better than a cardboard bed.

That, at least, appeared to be the logic of Olympic gold medallist Thomas Ceccon, who was spotted sleeping in a park inside the Olympic Village, the New York Post reports.

Saudi rower Husein Alireza posted a photo of Ceccon fast asleep on a white towel under a tree on Saturday, tagging the location as inside the Olympic Village.

The Italian swimmer, who won gold in the 100m backstroke, had already complained publicly about the accommodations in the Olympic Village, which have been panned throughout the Paris Games, after failing to reach the 200-meter backstroke final on Wednesday.

"There is no airconditioning in the village, it's hot, the food is bad," Ceccon said, per The Sun.

"Many athletes move for this reason: it's not an alibi or an excuse, it's the reality of what perhaps not everybody knows.

"I'm disappointed that I didn't make the final, but I was too tired. It's hard to sleep both at night and in the afternoon. Here, I really struggle between the heat and the noise."

The Italian team declined additional comment to The Sun.

Olympic Games organisers have come under criticism over the large quantity of vegan food being served at the athletes' village in Paris. News Corp Columnist Angela Mollard joined Sky News host Gabriella Power to discuss the fury over the Olympic Village conditions. "About 60 per cent of the menu at the athlete's village is apparently vegan. Now that's fine if you're having a convention of astrologers and palm readers, but this is the Olympics," Ms Mollard said. "They need a hunk of steak."

The IOC has come under fire for a lack of airconditioning and cardboard "anti-sex" beds in the Olympic village — measures intended to help the environment — along with poor food.

"There are not enough of certain foods: eggs, chicken, certain carbohydrates," Andy Anson, the chief of the British Olympic Association, told The Times of London. "And then there is the quality of the food, with raw meat being served to athletes."

A number of athletes, including the entire U.S. women's tennis team (with the exception of Coco Gauff) left the village for alternate lodging as a result.

The recyclable beds have become a punchline since their introduction in 2020 because they are only meant to support one person, leading to jokes that they are sex-proof.

Matilda Kearns, of the Australian water polo team, posted that she "already had a massage to undo the damage" from the cardboard mattress.

Perhaps she should try sleeping on the ground for a more restful eight hours.

3 gold, 1 silver and 1 bronze... I think she is the world's best ever female swimmer... the American guy from around that era was the best male olympian... he won 5 or more medals too.
