And yet the majority appear to favor someone like Harris because she doesn't frighten them like Trump. So at least this time they may be willing to accept a worse economy and a more agreeable candidate than someone they consider more ideologically divisive.

Kamalas sudden popularity might have less to do with her actual appeal than American voters being tired of Biden and Trump.

I think in many ways Harris was a compromise candidate than being the best one the Democrats could muster caskur caskur.

The best outcome might have been an open convention like many Democrats wanted but Biden shut the door on that option by refusing to step down.
