Nor have I... not even when I could have done so against those that (a) bought into the lie that I doxxed people and (b) bought into the lie that I deserved to be doxxed because of it. Like many of us here I am in receipt of a variety of information, be it freely shared or leaked to me. It doesn't make any sense to me that I would rush out to prove myself unreliable when it comes to keeping mum on privileged information simply because someone else has.

Of course, I cannot control what the rest of you do with what you know (or think you know) but I can hold myself to certain standards which precludes actions as I see as weak in others. There is a reason why in 20 years there isn't a single shred of evidence to support the claim that I publicly provided personally identifiable information about individuals; I've long decided that doxxing is weaksauce, that it's effectiveness is limited at best and that it's the hallmark of someone who is out of options. It is a Hard No for me, irrespective of the excuse.

I just now know to exercise circumspection in what I might privately divulge to you; your reputation for finding a use case for such tactics precedes you, as it does for far too many others in this community. Just so you know, KM doxxed me and the places I worked too... back in 2011. Six years on from that, his details were leaked to me and I did not "settle the score" then either.  I didn't dox him at all and I didn't do that to settle any score really. It was more gossip and I didn't care if it got plastered out there by Murd.

 And it wasn't because he doxxed me or because of things he said on a forum.

 It was because he called my job and attempted to get me fired. He caused me a 2 week suspension. He nearly costs me groceries and utility money and I had three kids.

 I had to tap into my emergency savings because of him. He is lucky all i did was show his house to Murdock.

 I ended up leaving that job anyway because I didn't want to keep dealing with him calling where I work. His ex wife told me once he starts harassing someone like that, he never quits.

 It was more a real life drama than a cyber one.

 Mostly I shared it because...people asked and I didn't care about his privacy.

 Also i never ask for anyone's info and I don't like when it's shared with me either without the person's consent. If someone wants me to know who they are, they can share that with me themselves.

 And several people have. I've had real life level conversations with several posters and it's well known anything soneone tells me privately stays with me.

 I just don't do that to people.
