Lt. Col. Tulsi Gabbard has changed her position on Section 702 of the Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Act, the warrantless surveillance authority that was used to spy on the 2016 Trump campaign and was exploited by the FBI hundreds of thousands of times to spy on American citizens.

Gabbard told Punchbowl News last week that she will support the controversial act if confirmed as President-elect Donald Trump's director of national intelligence.

Section 702 allows the government to spy on foreign nationals outside the U.S. with the compelled aid of electronic communication service providers. While supposedly outward-facing, if an American contacts or is contacted by a foreign national over email, social media, or the phone, the American's communications could potentially be tapped, searched, and stored without a warrant.

Gabbard appears to have jettisoned her principled stand in order to survive the confirmation process.

I've said it before: Tulsi's guiding star is political ambition, specifically of the executive variety. She'll say and do anything she believes will help her achieve that goal.

And yes, I donated to her 2020 campaign to be the democrat presidential candidate but mostly because I didn't want someone like Biden to get it (I also donated to Bernie's 2020 campaign for the same reason).

I support policies, not candidates, because like Tulsi and Kamala a politician's stances are liable to twist in the wind so they point in whichever direction they think will be most expedient. If a candidate stops supporting good policies I can no longer support that candidate.

I have to admit Tulsi is a good politician but that's not a compliment. All that means is she lies easily and often; she doesn't actually have core principles or personal integrity. She merely adopts what she sees as the most advantageous position to take at any given moment. In a year, a month, or a week it could be the exact opposite.

I admit that is as big a reversal as Kamala supporting fracking or border walls.

The Protection of Women and Girls in Sports Act of 2025 passed a House vote on Wednesday, sending Democratic lawmakers into a frenzy over the potential law.

AOC said this about it. "Yes, bigoted folks love this bill. Assaulters love this bill."

Ron DeSantis officially announced on Thursday he is appointing the state's attorney general, Ashley Moody, to Senator Marco Rubio's seat, as it is expected that he will easily be confirmed to be President-elect Donald Trump's secretary of state.

Moody, a close ally of DeSantis, has often been the legal arm the governor has used to fight against the Biden-Harris administration's destructive policies.

Sen. Chris Coons of Delaware appeared to confirm the identity of Biden's long-suspected betrayer Wednesday, telling Kaitlan Collins of CNN's "The Source" that Pelosi orchestrated the campaign to eliminate Biden from the race.

During her opening statement at her confirmation hearing on Friday, Kristi Noem, Donald Trump's nominee to head the Department of Homeland Security, vowed to prioritize the long-neglected border crisis.

Under President Joe Biden's administration, there have been over 10 million nationwide encounters with illegal immigrants, ramping up crime and costing taxpayers billions of dollars.

"Being safe within our borders here in America is critical," Noem said in her opening statement. "And yet Americans feel less safe than they have felt in decades."

He should have been charged with fraud. He used his non existent Aboriginal status to get government contracts for his company while a federal cabinet minister.

Two groups founded by failed gubernatorial candidate Stacey Abrams (D) that sided with alleged domestic terrorists in 2023 have been slapped with what the Georgia State Ethics Commission indicated Wednesday was both the largest fine it has ever imposed and possibly also "the largest Ethics Fine ever imposed by any State Ethics Commission in the country related to an election and campaign finance case."

Abrams and her groups have been embroiled in scandals for over a decade. Atlanta Magazine reported in 2015, around the time Abrams' groups were apparently siphoning millions of dollars in donations and turning out pitiful results, that funders were keen to know where their money went. The late state Sen. Vincent Fort stated, "[Abrams] hasn't been open and transparent."

Influence Watch noted that in its first years, Abrams' nonprofit New Georgia Project — whose stated mission is "to build power with and increase the civic participation of ... black, Latinx, AAPI, and young Georgians ... and other historically marginalized communities" — not only failed to meet its quotas but was accused of submitting fraudulent voter registration applications and paying over $1.5 million to a D.C.-based voter registration firm instead of doing the work itself. Meanwhile, Abrams was accused of taking a massive salary while working for only 20 hours per week for the organization.
