It is here too. They have poor eyesight, and slow reflexes. And the merging onto one KM/H expressways doing sixty. Don't get me started.

What irks me most often is the unpredictability; they drive like they're afraid of everything so slam on their brakes for seemingly no reason because there's a leaf in the road or someone in a parking lot two blocks away pulls up to the exit. Some asshole driving aggressively is still preferable because at least you usually know what they're going to do and can adjust your own driving accordingly.

It's the erratic and irrational drivers (often but not exclusively very old people) that get me shaking my fist and shouting obscenities.

Quote from: Shen Li on January 16, 2025, 01:20:43 AMI get restless too. I can't sit still too long. Plus, it is dangerous. Possible deep vein thrombosis.

My friends that know me, know I stand almost ALL the time lol.
I've come here to chew bubble gum, and kick ass. And I'm all out of bubblegum.

Quote from: Frood on January 16, 2025, 03:42:41 AMThe differences in time are generally layover at the airport/s. So depending on the route, 10 extra hours would be at least half or more on the ground waiting.

Bring your headphones and a good book.

That's what I was seeing too, long layovers.

A good time to read Lord of the Rings again lol.

If it's a decent international airport, look for sleep and shower pods.

As long as the seatbelt sign is not on they let you stand more on trans-ocean flights.

Quote from: Garraty_47 on January 16, 2025, 07:31:14 AMIn my experience (and I've directed traffic in busy intersections) it's mostly old people of every other description who are the biggest hazards. Imagine being surrounded by dozens of Joe Bidens driving around whenever you venture onto the roads and parking lots.

Octogenarians here take the MTR.

Its a shame planes don't have a standing area, cause the isles are normally slim, and I would stand a good portion of the time if I could lol.

Bigger jets that fly across continents will have some room near washrooms that you can stand.

I really am interested in coming out there. I doubt it will be this year though, maybe next year lol. I wanna go somewhere this year, but I need to keep it simpler, as Im focusing on remodeling my home some this year. I got a lil more Jeep stuff to do too. I been saving, so Im prepared for all of it lol, just need to wait on Spring to get here.

My lil brother wants me to come out there, in Seattle. He will prolly pay my flight, let me stay at his place, and feed me most nights lol. That is the least costly option. As a bonus, him and I talked about how I'd like to see my lil bestie too, down in Cali, and we figured it be cheaper to fly down there from his neck of the woods. And as an even more added bonus, if she up for it lol, avatar_Trump’s Niece ain't far from there, maybe I can talk her into making me a real Latina meal lol. That would be a super awesome West coast trip.

Around the same price, I could go down to Florida, and see my friend I grew up with. He moved down there about 5 years ago or more.

Of course Im gonna go to my music festivals too this year! OH!!!! And Im going to my first concert in a few months to see Billy Strings!!!! I seen him before here at a local joint, but it was before he got big lol.

2 more months til St. Patrick's day, my kickoff for fun season, let it hurry and get here!

And then you have drivers on their phones.

We never had problems in the mid to later 90's and beyond with drivers using their phones.

It was only when texting and idiocy became the default.

One of the most deadly highway incidents in Canadian history happened when a semi collided with a bus driving a semi pro hockey team to a game.

The driver of the semi was on his phone. Sixteen young men killed. About a dozen more people with permanent injuries.
