I'm hopeful for MAHA.
That's what I am talking about. I would be worried for my health from decades of consuming that garbage rather than 2 lil jabs.

If you eat what is in a US grocery store or restaurant, you have no credibility talking about good health.

Um, you do know that it really is coming out that shit was bad for you right?

Nah, Im picky in the grocery store, and where I eat out. Its why I only eat out every 4-6 weeks, cause only a few places I go.

Sheeeit, you know Im only 140lbs, of lean muscle mass lol.

General Lee would be proud of me, lol. He would of spit on that Yankee vax too! lol
I've come here to chew bubble gum, and kick ass. And I'm all out of bubblegum.

Quote from: DKG on March 04, 2025, 07:08:14 AMI was lucky that I did not have to get vaccinated to maintain my career. Most people did not have that option.

Not taken the jab cost me my annual pilgrimmage to Florida. That was a price I was willing to pay.

I chose to take the vaccine. I wasn't working at the time but my oldest daughter was and she had to take it. I went with her and got it as well so she wasn't as nervous about it.

We went with the J&J. We were down for two days so we know it worked.

I'm against government mandates for any medical intervention. When it comes to government workers, or schools...I'm in favor of those. And even with those mandates there are religious and medical exemptions allowed. It's very fair. Herd immunity in schools helps protect any children with auto immune illnesses, so as long as most kids are vaccinated the ones who can't be are still protected.

That's with the basic childhood vaccines everyone gets.

Employers have a right to mandate vaccines. It's their business. The covid vaccine though? The benefit of the covid vaccine is to the one receiving it.

You can still get covid after the vaccine. You won't get anywhere near as sick as you would have gotten had you didn't take the vaccine. Like the flu shot. You can still spread it as well.

So I don't really see why an employer would bother mandating that shot. Just treat it like the flu shot. Give your employees the option of getting vaccinated and those who refuse, just have them wear masks until the germ season is over.

I found it very extreme that people were coerced to accept a vaccine at the threat of losing a job they've been established in for many years. That was cruel and extreme.

It's fine to start requiring NEW hires to have that vaccine...but employees who are months away from retirement? I don't support any action that strips an individual of their autonomy like that. That was basically holding a gun to peoples heads.

It made me sick to see people treated that way.

Well said. :good:

It was a mistake to mandate everybody who works get vaccinated. I can see it being mandatory for people working in continuing care facilities or hospitals. But, for somebody working in a shop or an office, no. It should have remained a personal choice like the flu shot.

I have been nicotine free for nine years. But, when I smoked I don't think anybody would have taken me seriously if I berated people for unhealthy choices.

Quote from: Shen Li on March 08, 2025, 11:49:40 PMWhy would you. You are retired, you have security, you have your health and you have options to come and go as you please.  In other words, real freedom.

Blaze is probably a little jealous of all of that.
Maybe he is. I don't know and I don't care.

Let's be honest, none of them were real vaccines. They probably helped make symptoms less severe. They did not stop the spread like real vaccines do.

You have a laymens understanding of vaccines and I'm not saying that to be insulting at ALL. Please don't take it that way.

It takes years and years of education and experience to get a strong grasp on immunology and vaccines.

Many vaccines do not stop you from getting the virus in your system....they protect you from the virus killing you or rendering you severely ill.

That's still a very worthy endeavor, especially for the very old and very young whose immune systems are not as competent.

Again I absolutely encourage people to make these decisions with their medical doctor and stand that everyone should have the freedom and autonomy to make the best decisions for themselves. And the worst...if that's what they want to do.

Vaccines mostly don't stop the spread of most illnesses....they stop people from dying or getting sick. There is a fucking measles outbreak in TX as we type. We will see more cases of these illnesses as more people opt out of being vaccinated for them. Polio, pertusiss....all those illnesses can and will come back.

I do not have a health care background. My knowledge of vaccines is that of a laymen too.

My limited understanding is that some vaccines stop you getting symptomatic disease, but others stop you getting infected too.

The latter is known as "sterilising immunity". With sterilising immunity, the virus can't even gain a toehold in the body because the immune system stops the virus entering cells and replicating.

There is a subtle yet important difference between preventing disease and preventing infection. A vaccine that only prevents disease might not stop you from transmitting the disease to others – even if you feel fine. But a vaccine that provides sterilising immunity stops the virus in its tracks.

I took the vaccine too. Not because I was scared of getting a glorified flu bug. I did not want the old lady passing it on to her students. They shut down her college, but whatever.

I caught COVID. I had mild symptoms. But, so did another farmer I know who didn't take the jab.

Anyway, why are we still talking about this. It's in the past now. But, no more lockdowns unless there is a leprosy pandemic.
