That is interesting. We shall see if any ships are built in the US again.

I couldn't read the article since I don't believe in paying for "news", I have to wonder if maybe the Defense Dept. could consider allowing ship designers to build smaller warships (200-250 ft.) and market them to friendly nations that can use them.  I envision these boats to be used strictly for littoral defense and not long distance deployment.
