This is a question for Americans and Canadians.

The benefit for urban progtard Canadians:
The Conservative Party would become the size of the Greens
No more of that nasty oil and much less natural gas
You can carbon tax yourselves into the stone age
Ottawa will have no opposition to forcing everyone to trade in their gas guzzling F-150's for electric skateboards

The benefit for red state Americans:
The world's largest reserves of potash
The third largest reserves of recoverable oil.
The best beef on the planet
The democRATs would become a permanent opposition party federally
Lake Louise is your own.

I own a couple of rifles. Most rural folks here do. I used to own a lot more than that.

Think of it this way, you lose a bunch Jane Fondas but gain a bunch of old Hermans.

I wouldn't trade the land but I would trade the people in a heartbeat.

Alberta has a lot of oil and Saskatchewan has more potash than just about anywhere else on earth.

California's land area is 155,973   square miles.

Alberta's land area is 255,290 square miles.

Saskatchewan is 251,366 square miles.

The US would gain roughly 150,000 square miles in this trade.

I read there is some support for California, Oregon, and Washington state to join Canada..

I don't know if it's organized like what is happening in Alberta right now.

As a Canadian, this is not a a good deal for us. All the members of the View voting in our elections. :gross:

I would rather have two Quebecs mooching off of us than one Commifornia in Canada.
We will be part of the US before that ever happens.

Cali would be the biggest contributor to equalization after Alberta leaves.

I wonder how Californians will feel about having fewer MP's than Quebec despite having 4.5 times the population as La Belle Provence.
