The press should be held accountable for their lies.

We should round up anyone with purple hair, shave their bobble heads and then super glue chicken feathers on their head.  Give some warning they are approaching.

I think we'll spot them just with the purple hair. However, shaving their heads and adding chicken feathers is a good idea.

I agree but here in Canada, Trudeau and now Carney have bought them with our money.

"The Telecommunications Act of 1996 lifted restrictions on radio and cable television ownership." This happened under a Clinton presidential regime.

The Obama administration helped put the final nail in the Fairness Doctrine (the FCC had scuttled its own enforcement of the Doctrine years before) in 2011. The year before, in 2010 (also during the Obama regime), the SCOTUS' "Citizens United" decision opened the floodgates for blatantly *purchasing* narratives to be disseminated on media outlets.

If what they're doing isn't illegal the chances they'll be held accountable are slim to none, at least here in the USA.

Media personalities across the political spectrum (including Rachel Maddow, Tucker Carlson, and Alex Jones) have successfully argued in court that their audiences don't watch them for journalism... they watch them to be entertained and know better than to take everything they say literally.

The system isn't broken... it's functioning exactly as they intended.
