Actually I'm rather surprised by it. Trump has always been very anti-war and preferred negotiation and making deals instead. It seems to be out of character for him, he must have known this was going to happen while still trying to get Iran to the table. Quite hawkish of him.

What I take from it is that the threat must have been far more grave than we knew. Iran may have already had the bomb completed and there was no choice but to take it out before it got loaded on a missile. Whatever it was, there was simply no time left.

I guess we'll find out, but they'll probably never tell us what's really going on. Que sera, sera.

However from a Strategic pov the US/Israel caught Iran & its ally while they were at their weakest with their pants down.

Russia is bogged down in Ukraine & Iran suffered huge setbacks in the Middle East. So in a sense both are a crippled force. It will take either years to recover from their current situation economically & militarily.

I suppose you could call this Trump's 'Hitler Move'. Strike the enemy when they are at their weakest. And their allies too.

Israel pushed the US into the Iraq War which destabilized the ME & made Iran more powerful.

So in other words the US has to 'fix' what Israel largely made a mess off the 1st time. They tell your country to go to war. Israel has turned America into its bitch.

If you want to blame someone for all this, blame Iran's big mouth.

For decades their foreign policy has called for the destruction of Israel. Ayatollahs have repeatedly called for the destruction of Israel. They blatantly flout their nuclear capabilities, ignore any restraint agreements they made, and openly admit they intend to use a nuclear bomb to destroy Israel as soon as they get their hands on one. Then they throw military parades with everyone chanting 'Death to Israel'.

These types of activities are not conducive to world peace. Israel has been putting up with this for decades and finally said enough is enough.

Now if Iran had just shut the hell up and forgot about Israel and put their energy into fixing up their own country and helping their own people things might have turned out different.
