In Memoriam
for Charlie Kirk

Under a technicolor Utah sky, in the clear September air,
in the commons made uncommon, a man spoke
through riptides of Babylonian confusion, and he spoke
with the light of the Word of Life, and that light
dispelled the darkness that cannot comprehend its truth.
In the clear air, the bright and open air, a man spoke —
and as the sky cracked to silence him
how many mouths gasped at once, a terrible hush
like a rogue wave crashing. But he was not silenced.
The assassin slithered into ruin. But he was not silenced.
His words extend now into time, in concentric circles, further
than before — and further still. Martyr for truth, and in truth, alive.
America, may the Holy Spirit inflame and guide our tongues, and
let everything that breathes praise the Lord.
Let everything that breathes praise the Lord.
Let everything that breathes praise the Lord.

Charlie Kirk to get honorary degree from Hillsdale College: What did he study?

QuoteHillsdale College President Larry P. Arnn announced at Charlie Kirk's funeral service that the college would give him an honorary degree.
Charlie Kirk will have an academic degree, albeit posthumous. Hillsdale College President, Larry P Arnn, announced that they would be giving an honorary degree to the Turning Point USA founder, who was fatally shot on September 10.

Notably, information about Kirk that is available had not previously listed Hillsdale as one of his places of education. Kirk was at Wheeling High School, and then headed to Harper College, a community college in Illinois. However, he'd dropped out from there and enrolled part-time at King's College in New York City. He took online classes there, and didn't receive a degree – a fact Kirk referred to later in his career.

However, now, Hillsdale will be giving Kirk a posthumous honorary degree, and also confirmed that the 31-year-old was taking online courses there.

"Charlie took some 30 of our online courses," Hillsdale's Associate Vice President of Media and Public Relations told Fox Business. Kirk also reportedly enjoyed a close, personal relationship with college president Arnn.

"After Charlie had taken one of our online courses, passed the examination, received his certificate, photographed himself with it, and texted it to me. Before his death, he did that many times. The prevailing subject was always something he wanted to know," the publication reported him say.

The college site now has a page dedicated to Kirk and a video message from Arnn, accompanied by the following message: "Hillsdale College mourns the loss of our dear friend, Charlie Kirk. His deep and abiding faith, thirst for knowledge, and moral and intellectual courage were the hallmarks of his life and work. We are blessed to have known him—and we pray for his dear wife and children."

I never heard of Hillsdale College until after Charlie Kirk's murder. But, if his knowledge and debate skills were any indication of the courses and professors at that institution, that is where American parents should send their kids.

I was listening to a podcast earlier and I forget who the guest was but they were basically saying that CHarlie's security detail were a bunch of really great guys who did awesome work

um.......

Charlie Is dead, you realize this don't you?

and you also realize that there's only ONE job and ONE objective for any security detail. Keep the client safe

I'd imagine that getting your neck nearly blown off by a sniper perched on a rooftop some 200 yards away with ZERO Arial cover means that security detail sucks donkey dick and should perhaps get into the lemonade stand business from this point forward

wtf is wrong with people?

Chicago Cubs third baseman Matt Shaw took time away from his club to attend Charlie Kirk's memorial on Sunday.

In the middle of a battle for first place in the National League, Shaw flew down to Glendale, Arizona, to attend the celebration of Kirk's life at State Farm Stadium.

Speaking to reporters on Tuesday, Shaw said he received a text message from Kirk's wife, Erika, asking him to "come to the funeral."

"I felt as though it was something that was really important for me to do," Shaw explained.

Five years ago, misleading narratives regarding policing and racism were waiting at every turn. And even then — in the midst of COVID-19 lockdowns and craziness — Charlie Kirk was out fighting to make the truth known.

"Three hundred eighty-five million police interactions happen every single year in America; 385 million. And 15 unarmed black men die. Fifty-two police officers were killed last year in 2019. Twice as many black police officers have died in the last two weeks than unarmed black men," Kirk said.
