I'll pitch in where I can. Currently working evenings and have more stuff going on during the morning/day so except days I'm not working it'll be a little sporadic.

Before I fill the entire first page in News and Current Events with Redirect messages do we need those?

I left it at the default to automatically delete the Redirect notice after a week but there's gonna be a lot of pages of them and I started with the oldest page in the Topic list first, so they're old threads as well.

I'll do it however y'all want but I'd like to propose not creating the notifications at least during this housecleaning operation because of the sheer volume of threads being moved.

I would uncheck the redirect option

I did that mistakingly on the first two I did but uncles the box on every subsequent thread I moved

It looks like I got the Redirect destinations confused and put some threads from Current Events into Guest Nest instead of Politics. I can't Move threads from Guest Nest though.

Will correct that from now on.
