 The Revelation really gets people and they turn it into some end days event involving the US...when it was written by John after he had been boiled and cast to Patamos and given visions showing Gods plans of redemption and the new heaven and earth. Its called The Revelation of Jesus Christ, because thats what its telling about. When Jesus is revealed to the world.

 What i found studying is when a supposed contradiction is found, its typically bad exegesis.

 You really have to WANT to know. Scripture cuts the heart....its a spiritual text.

There is a scholar who runs channel called Alpha and Omega ministry....James White i believe and he has A LOT of break downs and information  (all cited) about the gnostic gospels and why the gospels that make up the NT were cannonized.

He has hours worth of podcasts on this topic where he goes deep into all of it. If you are interested in it, of course. I can always link it. The problem with gnostic books is they completely contradict the rest of the books that make up the bible. In order for a book to be cannonized it has to be in VERY specific confluence with the Torah and the remaining books of the OT. The gospel accounts that make up the NT are and are more reliable. We know who wrote them and why.

I like listening to podcasts when im cleaning. Or running and working out or working. I work from home so thats pretty easy when im not talking to people.
